1444: Introduction

I am COURAGE WOLF.

24.jpg

I am from a proud family of wolves. Every now and then we try to take over the world. For example, over two millennia ago, my cousin raised two humans, Romulus and Remus, to take over the world for us. Over a period of centuries, they and their successors went pretty far:

But in the end they failed. I tried myself during World War II. I got pretty close:

But I was foiled by Hitler's dastardly V-1.3 device, which sent me back through time to the 15th Century. Fortunately, I was able to take over the decent-sized country of Brunei:

It's way out in the boondocks of Oceania, but it will do. I am COURAGE WOLF, after all.

The starting situation

So, what do we have here?

We've got one major player in the north: Ming, the land of bureaucracy. Down south here, though, everyone's closer to the same level.

Current figurehead of our nation. Not a great monarch, but not bad either. At least the 2 is in MIL, the one with the least demand.

Chinese tech group... ouch! Well, everyone out here is on the same page.

Religion... I don't remember this being in my World War 2 days. But I like that crescent moon. And those bonuses.

But enough talk. We have a pressing problem: other countries exist in Oceania. I mean, just look at the trade chart:

Unacceptable! My first decree as shadow ruler of Brunei:

1455: First War against Aceh

kC1W8CC.jpg

Ayutthaya and Aceh decided to declare war on Malacca at the same time. So naturally I plugged the Straits of Johor with a fleet while Aceh's forces were on the mainland and invaded them. An easy victory for me. I snatched a few provinces and forced the release of Malacca. Shortly after this Malacca became my first vassal. I didn't go for puppets back in World War 2, but maybe this vassal thing isn't so bad after all!

Controlling the Malacca trade node and forming Malaya

Rebels appeared in Ayutthaya...

...fortunate for me, because they soon returned land to my vassal. I celebrated by taking the rest of Aceh and selling three provinces to Malacca.

And poof! My first diplomatic annexation. I could get used to this. As for non-diplomatic annexations, Majapahit.

By 1503, almost all of the Malacca trade node was mine, and I was ready to form Malaya.

Colonization

Problem 1, solved. Now, problem 2. Take a look at this chart:

Wolf_distr.gif

That's the distribution of my kin. It's time to rectify this. It's time to put the southern hemisphere on the map.

Malaya!

Unfortunately I'm saddled with an incompetent figurehead.

Not nearly enough to save Swahili from me, though, and in a few decades the problem resolves itself. I force the release of Mutaba, who I then annex.

Round the Cape of Good Hope, vassalize Kongo...

And it's off to the New World we go!
