I'm currently playing a Grand Campaign game as the Teutonic Knights. While engaged in yet another war to further put to heel those lowly Slav Poles, one of my German holdings (Breman to be exact) went into revolt. This happened while an Austrian force was in the region waiting to board a ship to kill Frenchmen (the HRE is Austrian at the moment). The rebel scum attacked the Austrians and were quickly crushed. The Austrians then proceeded to siege the city. I sent in a force of my own double the size of the Austrian force, but when the city was raised the Austrians seem to have been given control of the city. The provance still shows as mine but the City is not. Please advise.

Uhh, this is weird. In fact, it seems like a bug to me. As You´re neither at war with Austria nor allied with them against a third country, which has captured Your province beforehand, they should not be able to capture any of Your provinces. I don´t know whether there is a way to resolve this situation...

Afterthought: Or ARE You allied and fight a common enemy? Then everything should go back to normal after the peace treaty is concluded, I guess.

The Grand Campaign has not yet finished. However, the city of Breman remains in the hands of the HRE (in this case the Austrians) I still seem to be in control of the province though. I have not gone to war with austria which I assume would allow a resolution of sorts. When trying to access information of the province both my nations shield and the Austrian one border the upper corners. In addition I can't get any of the normal delailed info rather, things are like looking in on a enemy held territory.

The Austrian flag float over your city probably because their leader was higher ranked than yours. Army size isnot a matter to determine who conquered a city.

Problem comes, also probably, that the system considered the rebellious city as an 'ennemy' to Austrians although it should have been given back to its original owner.
SO Austrians conquered the city and kept itas there is no ways to solve diplomatically the case.
Currently I think only a war between you and Austria would solve the problem.
The peace will then force resolution ofthe case.

That has to be fixed.

I never saw the case during testing.

I did see a similar thing when playing Turkey. I was in a war with the Mammeluks, my allies were Oman and Cyreneica. Cyreneica conquered Sinai during the war. In the peace treaty I gave Sinai to them. However, somehow Turkey ended up owning the province, while Cyreneica controlled it.

The issue was resolved in the next peace negotiation, with Turkey and Cyreneica being allies. Turkey then had full control of the province.

Thought I'd add this, because it would show that the bug has nothing to do with HRE.
