Okay, Im happy to say that I went into town last night and ended up at the mall for the ATM machine and saw the EB brick and mortar store and picked up the game (just hope Im home when fedex comes to refuse the online purchase of the game).

Okay, anyway, this game really is a RTFM game now isnt it?

I glanced over the manual, reading bits and pieces, and proceeded to start the game up.

Takes an ever long time for the Initializing sound screen, but eventually loads up.

Okay, Im playing the grand campaign, and Im going Huh?

I havn't the slightest idea what Im supposed to do, I get a popup, saying something like xx province doesn't have any merchants, Okay I click on Okay, go to the province and go Huh? So what the hell do you want me to do about it?

Im definately not a manual reader, so could anyone just give me some good old fashioned tips on starting up in a grand campaign game to get me going? I promise to read 'more' of the manual to find out the little things, but the basics just seem to be lacking in the manual, at least from what I've read so far.

Thanks,

Play Russia in the GC so that you can take it easy at the beginning. Build up decent infrastructure, trade, and land tech levels, put merchants into Novgorod, and promote bailiffs into every province. Annex Pskov as soon as possible, and when you are ready attack Kazan and continue south from there.
