I have not played CK3 in years but I finally returned because of the announcement that China will finally be added to the game. I can't believe after so many years it's finally happening. I still remember being so disappointed that Jade Dragon in CK2 was just going to be off map. Anyways I already pre-ordered. This is srsly the most excited I've been about CK3 since launch. Hopefully everything goes as planned and the launch is smooth and successful. I just want to say take your time and do proper Q&A before launch, it doesn't matter how long it takes, a good launch is more worth it than a rushed one. I could wait for another year if I have to.

Me too — as a Chinese player, this is one of the most exciting and thrilling things in 2025. For Chinese players, hearing this news feels just like celebrating the Lunar New Year.

Anyway, China and Japan in medieval times is something I've been waiting for since CK3 was released. Because the map was cut off on the east side, I was sure it was going to happen.

The Paradox games I play the most are Victoria 3 and Crusader Kings 3. By comparison, each new CK3 release is always of much higher quality than Victoria 3’s—it’s one you can trust.

My take on the new versions of Civilization VII and Victoria 3 is this: it seems the developers themselves never fully experienced the games they made.

I've never been interested in China being in CK and I worry about the performance issues that come with adding so many new provinces and characters, but I am mildly curious to see what mechanics Japan has. I'm really hoping Japan and Korea don't get shafted for China the way most of Asia was shafted for Europe until this last DLC.

I'm glad someone is happy at least. Personally, I just can't overlook how barren Christianity is. Feels like a weird direction to take the game while even basic things like investiture are nowhere to be seen.
Not to mention the performance issues. It already gets worse with every single update, I fear a whole new subcontinent will be the final nail in the coffin.

I haven't played Civ7 or Vic3, but I do get the same feeling for CK3 w.r.t. them not fully experiencing the game.

Anyone who has played more than ten hours can tell that the easiness isn't a complaint of overkeen min-maxxers, but a systematic and easily-fixable problem that affects whether a large part of their audience wants to continue to play the game or not.

Taiping rebellion in SGS Taipings is pretty good conflict in Steam by former AGEOD developer. I'm sure music will be also fantastic. As it was in Bizantion
chants. But not sure about challange and AI. Hope Paradox aware of this.

On one hand I am also very, very hopeful for a very different, unique experience… and on the other hand I remember that we were advertised not one, but at least THREE unique governments in All Under Heaven, and I start to worry if the resources aren’t spread too thinly. (I mean, Japan and Southeast Asia are great, but I’d rather not have anything half-baked.)

I understand wanting more focus on Europe but I genuinely don't believe you care about investiture mechanics, especially over things like bishoprics. It would just add more court positions to constantly refresh and keep track of, for what? Barely any of the money you get comes from church taxes and half the other things churches did aren't in the game and probably won't ever be because they directly relate to peasants

What? The lack of college of cardinals/interaction with the papacy is currently the most glaring omission compared to CK2.

For a game called "Crusader Kings", you would think at least Catholicism would be a properly fleshed out part of Europe.
Currently we are 5 years in and they still haven't bothered to make the Crusades targeting the holy land work properly - the AI for them is utterly useless.

From my understanding they will try to do better herritage more complicated mechanics than Mongols&Turkiye. It is your money how you enjoy with it.

I want investiture because it's necessary to make an attempt to simulate European medieval society. It's how nobles handled younger sons, it's how the emperors clinged to power. Mechanically, in the game, it would provide the exact same benefits; to combat gavelkind, you could give younger sons clerical offices, and appointed prince-bishops are sure to be more loyal than a duke who owes you nothing. Of course, not all would be easy, since this is cause of major conflict with the pope, who shouldn't be just a piggybank for gold and claims, but rather a major player, as he historically was. I ask you this, what is the point of theocracies right now as they are? What is it they do?

If investiture wouldn't mesh well in a game trying to represent the middle ages, something has clearly gone wrong. Your comment would have been just as ridiculous if the game had shipped without vassals and you were trying to claim that I didn't really care about having feudal mechanics.

Papal/temporal investiture is a tiny portion of that am I missing something?

I'm so excited for AUH not just because of Korea, Japan, China, and SEA (Though I am insanely excited for these too) but also because there won't be arbitrary cutoffs In our stuff now, like I love playing in Burma as the Pagans, and it's just so odd that I only ever get to interact with E/NE India and a shred of Tibet.

Has there been any indications they are adding anything Korea-specific, though? The All Under Heaven Steam site just has Japan, China, and SEA.

Same, honestly. I've been wanting to play in East Asia since CKII. I have so many different runs I have planned right now. For me, this is finally going to make the game feel complete.
