What do you think what the form looks like, a Mechwarrior has to fill out to show a Tech what modifications he wants on his Mech?
Isn't it reasonable to assume that they use something similar to our Battlemech Record Sheets?

And isn't it reasonable to assume that all the Mech-producing companies and all the armed forces and Houses have dedicated design teams whose job it is to design Mech-loadouts that are as efficient and lethal as possible?

And how do these teams calculate and simulate those loadouts? There must be computer-programs that simulate Mech-combat.

And, therefore, isn't it reasonable to assume that Mechs and Mechwarriors are a part of gaming-culture?

And, therefore, isn't it reasonable to assume that there are Battletech-games inside the Battletech-universe?

There are always games that replicate part of real life, and mechs and such are part of real life for people in the BT universe, so it's certainly reasonable to conclude they'd have games that do the same.

and dont forget the game in the argo's video arcade

There's also an event that you can get before you build the training pods where you have the mechwarriors perform a pen and paper training exercise, which by description is literally Classic BattleTech.

They definitely have flight combat simulator games. Among the relatively benign Trials of Possession between the DCMS and Nova Cats at the end of Operation BULLDOG, including a game of American football (handily won by Clan elementals) and a coin toss (lost by a Clan commander who cheekily called "edge,") one world was fought over with a duel between aerospace pilots using an arcade game called Slayer!

For all we know, there could be a whole series of incredibly detailed arcade simulators with names like Awesome! and Demolisher! (probably with AI crewmates like in the Steel Battalion games.)
