Yes that is how it usually works, but in case of cities in motion that option is missing on right click. I thought that there might be a special way to get it in the case of CiM.

it might be that steam ran out of cd keys again
there seems to be a bad relation between paradox and steam, and this happens from time to time
if you are lucky you will get one once paradox gives steam more keys, if not you'd better ask paradox support to resolve your issue

Or are you on Mac? If so, you need to get the cd key from the link in the overlay after shit+tab in-game or from the key popup when you start the game if the Steam community is enabled for your game.

Again, is it on PC or on Mac? :)
On PC, Steam should definitely show you the CD key when right clicking the game in the Steam Library, it says "view game CD key". If it does not, have you tried contacted Steam support? They are the ones taking care of the keys in there.
On Mac, the key does not appear in the right click (for some odd reasons), however you should get it either when starting the game, after the splash screens sequence, there is a Steam popup in the bottom-right corner which gives you the CD key (if in the game properties you have enabled the Steam community, that is). Also, in-game, shit+tab should display the Steam overlay and you can click the CD key link in there.

Sorry, it's on PC, and I can assure you it does not show it. I bought the paradox pack on steam, and as you can see by my registered games, I feel pretty capable of finding the CDKeys for these games :p CiM simply does not have one for me (there are one or two other games with the same issue for me)

And yes, I'm sure it will have to be done through steam. I was just pointing out for the people who have a hard time believing that our keys don't show up where they should, and instead think we are just too stupid to find it. (I'm looking at scorcher24)

Oh come on, it's logical to start with the simplest ideas and suggestions. Or is it better if no-one answers you and tries to help, because they don't want to hurt your feelings?

That isn't what happened, though. He asked his question, was told where to look, and then said that the key was definitely not there. He specifically mentioned the right click context menu, so it's obvious he was looking in the right place:
Yes that is how it usually works, but in case of cities in motion that option is missing on right click.
Now, the guy responded with "Actually, it is there." It's very clear he checked and it wasn't there, but this guy still insists the thread creator is wrong. How is it helping to ignore what they say and insist they are wrong when it's clear they are looking in the right place?

ok, so he didn't want to believe that the error is at Steam. You're right. He was wrong. And so what? :)

It's not about being right or wrong on this issue, but forget it. Also, to co_damsku, sorry for the posts in here, since it had happened with other games I was never under the impression it was anybody but steam's fault. I'm not terribly concerned, do I miss anything for not having the game registered?
