I decided to play the game after a long time, and the game keeps crashing during the loading screen, one time I succeed to get to the menu, and then the game crash. I really have no clue on what's going on with my game.
I'm on ubuntu 24.04 and the game is up to date with the new 1.7.4 version.
Thanks to anyone who can help me !

I'm afraid that .zip you attached contains no logs at all.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/crashes/ folder, attach here the latest (only!) exceptions.txt

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Thank you for your help and sorry for posting this in the general forum but i can't write in the bug reports section.

There is everything you asked for, with the exception of the file at this location Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/crashes/ folder, there is only a file named meta.yml who seems to be empty. The system info.txt is in french, i can try to translate it if it can help you.

Your Nvidia driver could stand an update

That aside I see no reaon for his probnlem in those files. Your CPU does support AVX it seems, and is modestly above the minimum requirement.

If the driver doesn't help, run the ./victoria3 executable manually from a terminal command line. What output do you see there?

I tried to update my driver but it seems that my pc doesn't support the new drivers (the official ubuntu driver installer doens't show the new drivers so i had to install them manually, I think that the new drivers aren't fully working for ubuntu)
I launched victoria 3 via a terminal and aside from the game being unhappy because the connexion with steam isn't working, it says two things :
Warning: 1 log categories not defined
performance

Segmentation error (core dumped)

it's the first time that i'm seeing this honestly.

I have no real idea then, sorry. do Stellaris, HOI4 and EU4 work okay?

And you might need Ubuntu help to get later drivers installed - that really should work!

I updated my drivers to the new one (550.100) and the game still doesn't work, other games works, but the segmentation fault (i don't know how to translate this, in french it's "erreur de segmentation") really concern me.

Yes, the seg fault is clearly the problem, but so far we see nothing to point to what is triggering it.

Do Stellaris, HOI4 and EU4 work okay?

Hmmm. Are there any Linux OS logs that record the segfault and might point to at least the general area of the problem?

I made a .txt with everything from the start of the launcher until the crash of the game.
It seems that "16:19:32 srt-logger: (process:10832): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 16:19:32.280: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed" is the answer.

So a Glib problem? If so I'm not sure why you'd get that but apparently no one else ... as we've updated the driver it seems unlikely to be that. I assume Ubuntu is fully up to date too?

Then I have no idea what is causing this, I am sorry!

That segfault mentions getting a coredump - have you located that? If so best to make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach it there, plus the other files from above.

Unfortunately due to the time of year it probably won't be read by QA and the devs until Paradox return from their annual summer shutdown in early August - sorry about that!

You should have it by default if you are running Ubuntu 24.04, but since you mention that the Ubuntu updater had some issues with drivers and libraries, could you make sure that you are running glibc 2.35 or newer (update/reinstall it)? The game won't run on older versions of glibc.
