I can't press spacebar to get past the title screen

After the game launches I get to the title screen that says to press the 'A' button, or SPACE, or the Steam button. I am pressing spacebar and NOTHING IS HAPPENING.

This is working fine on my other MacBook Pro and an iMac.
Other Steam games take keyboard input just fine.
This MacBook is brand new.
OS X 10.11.2
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
I've edited ~/My User/Library/Application Support/Magicka2/user_settings.config and set fullscreen = false. This doesn't help.
I don't know what else to try.

Any advice would be apprecited.

The input handling for Mac is handled a bit differently in the engine compared to other games which could explain this. We've had a similar issue for mice. This is something I could look into but I can't say when.

EDIT: Users on the Steam forum have found that updating Steam will fix this issue.
