I get Error Code Null whenever i try to play the game (steam)

Expected Result​

I got this game for very long time and i want to finally play

Actual Result​

This happens after i launch it from steam

It show this textbox up when I clicked play

I tried installing Visual C++ and .Net Framework but then this shows up

(I'm from Poland so that's why is the error in diffrent language)

Please gather both these two informational files, and attach them here:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities Skylines\Cities Data\output_log.txt

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

That log shows you tried to run the game directly from cities.exe , which can never work - the game MUST be run from the Steam PLAY button.

Delete that file then do that - if that file gets recreated, post the new one here please.


And, you do see our launcher okay, is that right? The problem comes when you hit PLAY in our launcher?

Hello,
I deleted the Cities.exe file, but after that i couldn't run the game.
When i brought the exe file back, i got the same error again.
Screenshots attached.
I'm running the game from Steam, and yes, the Launcher looks fine.
I've also attached a screenshot of the Cities Skyline folder.

I said to delete the log file NOT cities.exe! Naturally the game will not run when it has no .exe file.

I deleted the log file, then tried to run Cities from Steam. It didn't work like always, and the file did not recreate itself. Currently, there is no output log file in the folder.

Let's bypass the launcher anyway, even though it seems fine.

Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
Extract cities.bat from it
Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
Right click the game in your Steam library
Go to properties
Select Launch Options
Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
X out of that screen
Run the game

If the game still fails what do you see on the screen? Does it make a new log file now?

Sorry for late answer, i was busy.

The game seems to be working all fine now.
It fixed the issue, i can play the game.
If anything happens, i will let you know. If you need anything for your information, let me know too, i will try to provide it.
