I haven't been able to play for weeks [MacOS]

This is for real, I get the same message "an error occurred while updating prison architect (missing executable) : " then it lists the directory information of the prison architect app file on my MacBook.
1 I have tried deleting steam download cache
2. I have repaired the library folder
3. I have verified the files
4. I do not have any firewalls or antivirus software
5. I have deleted the game and steam and redownloaded multiple times to make it work

I don't know what to do anymore! I have updated everything but I just can't play anymore! any other help someone else can think of? I am desperate to play again

It is a known bug to get that "missing executable" message on Mac when you try Safe Mode, is that what you are doing?

If so does normal mode work okay?

I have tried both safe mode and the normal launching mode, Neither works

Normal mode launches the missing executable window i posted originally,

safe mode gets this :

Go into that folder and you'll probably see PrisonArchitect.app - if so copy or rename it to Prison Architect.app

okay now I get a different error, it won't even let me ope the game now

If you hover your cursor over that red triangle, what does it say is the problem?

And is that launcher version 2022.12 ?

yes this is 2022.12, no this is not in safe mode, when i use safe mode it doesn't open the game through the launcher

Please try this:
- uninstall PA from Steam
- unsubscribe from all mods in this game's Steam Workshop

Delete the following folders if still present:
- ~/Library/⁨Application Support⁩/Steam/SteamApps/common/Prison Architect/
To find that folder, in Finder do cmd-shift-G to bring up the GOTO box. In there paste ~/Library/Application Support⁩/ .

- ⁨~/Library/⁨Application Support⁩/Prison Architect/
(except any valued save games in the /saves/ folder of course/

Now install PA again and see how that goes please!
