This is sort of disturbing that i can't enter the support area for this game, yet i am an owner of this game. So well I will post my problem here. I purchased Rome a while ago and have the hard copy with me. Well now i have a new computer so I reinstalled it on my new computer and then decided to purchase the expansion on GG and downloaded and installed it and i get this Error Exeption message saying that the game failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. I did the whole reinstall thing and still doesn't work. Without the expantion Rome works but the expantion isn't taking. So How do i fix this problem! I'm sure i'm not the only person that has had this problem, but i don't see it anywhere. Please help

are you getting the 'side by side' error? dont forget to register the main Rome game and not just VV. this will give you access to the tech forums and such.

I see you registered rome. check the tech forums for sticky w/ JIT error or somesuch as topic. downloading and installing microsoft c++ runtime may be your problem.
yes I registered it. I don't know what side by side error is? But this is what mine says. "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. if you click Continue(which doens't work) the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. blah blah, This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling this may fix the problem." I must stress that I have done nothing unusual. I have done everything according to the normal installations.

Yes I did just register the origional Rome game. I though I did that a while ago but guess not. But i did download that and now the game works. Thank you very much for you help. Greatly appreciated.
