It finally did and then day one also took forever. It got to day 2 and FROZE!!!!!! What am i doing wrong. I think i have enough memory, i ran into you dont have enough memory when i was downloading, so i got rid of Eu1, ICQ ( didnt use it ), lords of the realm2, braveheart, and i think another game. I am puzzled - what where you downloading that you had to get rid of all those games to make room for?

Excactly ehat I thought while first reading it... Ok, maybe I shouldn't jump to conclusion here but this smells Warez to me!
Fredrik from Paradox said yesterday on Swedish TV that the game was out on the net for downloading the day before it was released so we know it's avaible on the net...

OH! - I wouldnt have thought of that :)

Hmmm, i had that idea at first as well, but then i read it again and it seemed like a mixup in computer terms: mixup of ram and hdd or something. Getting extra ram by cleaning up hdd if you get my idea.

I'd say the case is a honest-bought copy, but a bit slow comp to run it and not enough understanding of computers to describe it (or find warez sites in that matter).

Come on, think better of people.

re: plesae help

It looks from another thread of hacksaw that with downloading he is meaning downloading the patch. So he look like a honest man :) I agree with Hjarg, it dont look like he is good on computers.

one posible answer for hacksaw is the usual answer i give to 90% of my friends: you have put too many things on your pc.
There's no chance of cleaning the zombie house with uninstall (andf i'm sure for you uninstall=delete directory/exe file): please re-install a clean windows copy (please don't do ME...)

For the "downloading" argument: he uninstalled gigabytes of games for a patch? even for the full EU2 he freed to much: I believe we have a PEBCAK case;) ;) ;)

PEBCAK???

For me downloading=putting the CD in the computer and installing the progrom. IM NOT A THIEF! :-(

By the way, windows came on my computer i believe ( i wasnt the one who bought it) what can i do to install a fresh copy. Also what will that mean for the other programs on my comp?

Told you!!! :)

That's called installing, not downloading.

In order to say anything, we still need a bit more information about your system though: processor, ram, version of windows. There must be some friend or whoever who can share a bit light on the matter.

Have you tried pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL? In my Win98 it brings up a meny of things being run. I found the earlier patches of EU to be quite sensible to ICQ, winamp, and calendar...

Try quitting those from the aforementioned menu and running the game.

The only thing I can think of is that you might need winstock 2 which is n the CD.

So, what bands are playing at WinStock this year? :D :p

Empty you c:\windows\temp directory. Also, if you get a message you don't have enough memory, it's probably because your swap file isn't correct.

Go to settings, control panel, performance, virtual memory:
click on "let Windows manage my virtual memory settings". Many applications use more memory than what is available, so Windows creates a temporary file on the hard drive to shuffle information from the memory when it gets full.

If you have 64mb RAM and you find it too slow, upgrade to 128mb, the recommended setting.

Also disable all other programs running.

And if you get an error message during install, then its either that your hard disk is full, or you have more than 128 (64 if they use long names) entries (files &directories) in your C:\ directory.

Look in c:\Windows\options\install. If it's Windows Millenium Edition, it is in there.

If it's another version, go to the start menu, search, for files and folders, type *.CAB.

the directory on your C drive that will have the most CAB file will be the one where your computer retailer put the Windows OEM CD. Search around these parts of your hard drive and you should find a file called SETUP.EXE, it's the Windows installer, in case you need it.

In that case a "recovery" CD may have come with the PC. Ask who you bought it from if they still have it.
If they havent they may be able to point you to the file on the HDD that will put your PC back to its Factory Condition. There should be an icon on the desktop but you, or they, may have deleted it.

Just make sure that you save the things that you can't reproduce, ie documents you have written by yourself, files you have downloaded from the web might be good to stuff away att a safe place too..

Btw, your harddrives ain't safe places if you use a recovery CD you'll have to transfer them to another 'puter or burn them to a CD or in worst case, god forbid, make a backup to floppies.
