I need to open the game with another program!?

I have loaded on the EEP version 1.4.2a but when i click on the icon the game doesn't start and the computer says i need to open the game with a different program!?
Could someone help me please?

EEP is just a mod for the EU2 game. You must of course have the game installed first..

Is the shortcut correct? In the readme you also got when you downloaded it is described. It depends on whether you have the European or American version of EU2.

No but the files in which is places is different, since the default placement is different. Anyhow the directory should be under the same directory as is the eu.exe file.

the EEP file is in a strategy first file, but i am not sure how that would make a difference

The default folder for EEP is C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis 2\...this is where the installer default points to when you open up the installed file.

You will need to CHANGE where the installer points to, to install the file. In other words BEFORE installation CHANGE c:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis 2\ to C:\Program Files\Paradox Entertainment\Europa Universalis 2\, or to the folder where you installed Europa Universalis 2.

Once you have changed it will do the rest for you and you simply need to click on the shortcut icon from the start menu which is created by the installer.
And i believe this is already covered in the installation instructions you are supposed to READ prior to installation.
