I tried Installing the Victoria 2 Zombie Mod for my game, I followed a Tutorial to do it and everything, But every time I tried to log in, the game would crash at the opening loading screen and not play. I even deleted the Zombie mod, But I still keeps crashing! How do I fix this??

It’s now gotten Worse, It keeps Crashing when it says it’s loading “databases II” and the painting isn’t on the home screen where I can select my mods.

I’ve looked at tutorials, tried deleting Caches, Reinstalled, Everything. But it keeps crashing on startup

Please, I just want to play the game again

here’s the tutorial for the zombie mod I followed:

Why is the tutorial telling you to replace actual game files with modded files? That's... not what you're supposed to do. Mods are typically supposed to go in their own folders inside the mod folder in the steam files.

I would recommend reinstalling, but you say you've already tried that... maybe try deleting everything, and then reinstalling? If that doesn't work, I have no idea how you'd fix that.

shit. Looks like I’ve been had… ok, so what exactly should I delete so I reset everything?

I have absolutely no idea... everything, I would assume.

I don't know what your files are like, or what you have downloaded, but I'd recommend uninstalling via steam (assuming you have the game via steam) and then cleaning out the entirety of the steamapps/common/Victoria 2 folder except for maybe the save games and mod folders which you might be able to copy elsewhere and then put back in.

Ye I might have to at this point. Will this mess with my Victoria 2 in any way?

Well... it depends what you've already done in and to it, but it should reset the game to what it's initially like for everyone who downloads it.

IT WORKED!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I mean, All my save data is gone, But I don’t care. I’m just so damn Happy that my game is working again, And hey, my mods are still intact so it’s not like it’s completely wiped!

seriously man, I cannot thank you Enough! I was legit worried for a few days, And nobody was willing to help. Thank You!

Oh... okay. Now I'm thoroughly lost. Fortunately it seems like I was able to solve your issue before that was the case, so yay?

No, Like I legit looked for the save data folder, And it was gone.

Save games are by default and assuming you got both expansions in Documents/Paradox .../Victoria 2/save games.
Some usually bigger mods might create their own subfolders within that, including their own save games folders.

I need to check, But if true, then that’s a huge relief

It is true in general.
Just depends on having both expansions, as said before, not having used a userdir.txt file and another directory
and looking for the Documents folder under the Windows account you played the game on.
