Hello,
If recently installed IC 1.02 on AoD 1.07. After starting the IC Editor i want to increase the techteams to 7 but whem I try to establish the changes the game told me of an incompatible version of AoD.
Is AoD 1.05 the last supported patch? or is there an other Ic Editor?

Regards Alith

	1 # 1.5
# _RV_MAX_TECH_SLOTS_, Maximum number of tech slots
	5 # You have to change this value to have more techteams maximum. (At the moment you can have 5 techteams at maximum)
# _RV_SLOT_IC_INCREMENT_, IC increment when a slot is gained
	20 # You should decrease this number to modify the techteams industrial capacity cost. (Now you get one every 20 IC)

I tried those changes to the files, and the game just crashes when started...

This game has some nice parts, but so far I find it sucks just a bit. Only 5 tech teams, and it seems you have 3 times the techs of research!! I've try twice now to invade Poland, and twice it's turned into a slug feast.... Even starting in 33 still doesn't give you (me) time to get ready, IMHO. My armies & air force are a good size, but don't have the techs to fight their way out of a wet paper bag...... Dh'o!! I found at first, things were being research at a good speed, but after 1937, thing seen to really slow down??

Hmm, I dont have issues with my techs at all before Poland in 1939, but then again I usually start a game in 1933. From the standpoint of Germany, your research should be balanced and make sure not to over do Industrial Techs as those will decrease your research speed greatly. For me as Germany, I tend to focus on Infantry, Armor and some Naval to increase my research speed then do some Industrial techs when I have enough of a percentage then the year before invading Poland I do alot of my doctrines. That way I have most of my land forces researched and built or being upgraded, then I make sure they are battle worthy by getting the doctrines done. Its pretty darn easy to do, but it takes some practice with the IC tech tree to know what you need or want to build prior to war.

I think you hit the nail square on the head. I was charging ahead big time on the Ind techs, and did notice those -% marks, but thought, Ha, can't slow things down that much, Eh! Guess I was just a bit wrong there..... Thanks for the hints, I'll try this again. Cheers.

I tend to use 5 techteams as well. However if you still want more techteams ctrl+C ctrl+V this code over the very same part of the original misc file:

Code:
research = {
# Blueprint Bonus
	2.0
# Pre-Historical Date Mod (value * days prior to historical date. Lower limit for the total is -0.9. )
	0 #-0.00125
# Money cost for each skill-level
	0.08
# Mean number of "invention" events occuring per year
	340
# After-Historical Date Mod (value * days after to historical date. limit for the total is 1.50. )
	0 # 0.00050
# Tech speed modifier - value below affects tech speed
	2.8
#_RV_PRE_HISTORICAL_PENALTY_LIMIT_, Can not go below
	1 # 0.1
#_RV_AFTER_HISTORICAL_PENALTY_LIMIT_, Can not go above
	1 # 1.5
# _RV_MAX_TECH_SLOTS_, Maximum number of tech slots
	10
# _RV_SLOT_IC_INCREMENT_, IC increment when a slot is gained
	10
}

It gives you a techteam every 10 IC until you reach the 10 techteam limit. I've also halved the tachteams daily cost. It should work because it worked for me (I've tested it).

Im playing IC with ARMA. I find that 7 tech teams is all u need. But u will still start with 5 till u get ur IC up. U will need to do the ind techs to get the better units. Just doing docs wont improve ur inf very much. U need the ind techs to build better units. IE u cant build tanks unless u get the ind techs to build them. I concentrate my ind techs at 1st to getting the IC up so i can get more tech slots and more ic for building units. I only do the doc techs when i have a free slot to do them. 1 is always working on ind 1 on inf 1 on arm 1 on air and 1 on naval. When i get a new slot i start on land docs but switch it between each of the docs. As Germany naval docs r more important than land docs if u want to beat the alleis navies so u can do amphibs on the UK and USA. I will put 1 team on nuke techs as soon as i get 1 free. Germany need nukes big time or they will be destroyed by the USA nukes. In my current game i had 30 nukes by 1944 and used all of them on the USA taking out their naval bases. That cut down on the amount of units they could transport in to Europe and also helped japan get across the pacific. But i find that i had to nuke the naval bases every month cause they would usually have them back to full strenght within a month along with infrastuctor back to 100%. But when i got nuked it took 1 year to just get mine back up by 1. I read somewher that the AI wont ever use nukes. Buts thats not correct cause the USA will use nukes as soon as they build them. So u will need to build nukes as well. But u will need ind techs to research nukes as well as the rockets needed to carry them. Ind techs r the most important techs to research. Yes they do slow down ur research but they r needed more than any other tech. But the lose in research speed is made up by gains in research in other techs. So they even themselves out and u dont loose any speed if u pick the right techs to research. I usually go for military industry 1st then military economy so i can increase manpower and IC. Then do census and work my way down that column as far as i can then switch to the techs to give me radar and electronic techs. All improve research speed as well as giving u more tech slots. They also open up the nuke research. Do the naval docs as soon as u can to improve ur fleet. Especially for Germany to improve convoy raiding. My German navy was able to take on a much bigger UK fleet and destroy it due to having better naval techs. Most of the time i dont even start on land techs till i have a free slot as i find i can beat Poland France and the UK without doing any land docs as long as i have done the naval docs. The UK, USA and Japan also need naval docs more than land docs as they need the navy more than land units due to their situaton of having to cross the seas to get anywhere. China SU and France on the other hand need land docs more than anything else. I dont worry to much about air units as i dont use them much. I only use TAC to do ground attack on retreating units to try and destroy them before they get a chance to rally. air units have very little effect on organised units and dont really do much in air to air missions or other missions like strat bombing or interdiction. But Navs r very good at convoy raiding, a lot better than subs. 2 nav wings of 4 div each sunk more convoy ships in 1 day than my entire sub fleet of 4 fleets with 12 subs each did in a year. That was without doing any air docs. But each country has its own order for doing research. U need to look at what u need the most and research that as much as u can. Plus everyone has their own style of play. I tend to look at the weak area of the country im playing and do the research to improve in that area 1st then look at what else i need to win. Germanies weak area is the navy so i concentrate as much research on that as i can. France and SU is weak on the army so i research that the most. I cant understand why France is weak in the game cause in the real world they had the biggest and most powerful army in the world in 39 with the most upto date tanks. Infact they out numbered German tanks 10 to 1 in 39. Mostly med and heavy tanks to Germany only having light tanks. Even the UK had more tanks than Germany in 39. So did Poland. The German tanks cold not beat the Polish British or French tanks. They had to use stukas to deal with them.
