Each player, take a noble of the same country/kingdom, but no one can be king, and having similiar power levels of course being good. First one to become king wins. =-P I want this so badly.

Not a bad idea at all, although not simply becoming king is enough for victory. Power must be consolidated too :D Mmm... civil war...

OF course..I just meant the first who could keep king..and live..lol

How about a version where you must all support the king and no one may *ever* become king? Instead, the one with the largest number of non-Christian/non-Orthodox provinces in his demesne at the end of the game wins.

Also good. =-P So many things to do, I can only hope there are more ppl in the multi lobbies then I have seen for other games...although its never toooo hard to get a game, it can be a bit hard to get a good large one.

ahhhh sort of a semi-co-operative game? That sounds fun!

Sooo this means that vassals are playable? I thought at one point someone announced that they weren't, but this is good too :)

edit: just verified it the FAQ, lots of stuff in there I didn't know!

Roach,

T said in another thread that it isn't at 24, like EU, so I'm assuming it's eight... That really would be too bad, as the possibilities of sprinking a fair number of sovereigns and vassals throughout Western or Eastern Europe is tantalizing.

Eight players concentrated wholly in the HRE (particularly if its overall borders expand-we still don't know quite how that works) would concievably be an incredible RP game.

I would not prefess to know Johan's ideas for future DEPs (Developer Enhancement Packs) but I would remind you that MP in EU2 was limited to players for quite a long while before he expanded it to allow for 24. I do not know if there is a technical or performance limitation that might make this impossible for CK, but I don't expect so...thus it probably isn't out of the realms of possibility for CK to be expanded too. That would be for another time though.

As to 8-player MP...a cooperative crusade might not be such a boring game...particularly when you never quite know who you can trust at home. ;)

T,

Aye. Within EU 2, it's not very hard to change any scenario. I'm assuming, on the developer side, it's just a matter of stability and speed.

And a crusade would be great fun, but I imagine, without a human controlling the Muslims, a bit cumbersome and limited (of course, all I can speak from is EU MP-my only experience with the Crusades is Tamas landing the Hungarians in the Levant and taking Acre-I'll take your word for it).

Meanwhile, though, with some simple ground rules and some dedicated writers (something along the lines of the FC or the cooperative AARs like Bohemia, Italy, etc.) the Holy Roman Empire would be as close to simulating factionalism, greed, vanity and politics within a national structure as a Grand Strategy game can get.

Good fun. :D

(by the way, I don't suppose you can tell me how the HRE works? :D)
