I bought the game and installed it on my machine. I dont know what patches i need. How do I find the version number. None of the patches will install even after the uninstall and reinstall

When you start the game and enter the main menu, the version number is displayed in one of the corners of the screen.

If you have a cd copy, read the sticky in the tech forum on how you uninstall hoi2.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled according to the directions 3 times to no avail. It simply does not recognixe that Hearts of Iron II is installed
