As title. We all know there's a bunch of things we often do that are a bit overly cumbersome and could be improved with some UI tweaking. I'd like:

  • Mass build buildings. Say you hold CTRL while building a building in the macro builder, the game could then go sequentially down the list from where you clicked and build as many buildings as you have money for. One click, now you have 300 buildings. Especially important because the UI gets pretty laggy to update between each click when you have a lot of provinces available for building, as anyone who has played into the late game well knows.
  • Better exploit development mechanics. At the very least remove recently exploited provinces from the list. Ideally add mass exploit development option. Also it would be nice to be able to select ONLY territories since a very common thing is exploiting tax dev in TC provinces which is basically useless to have around.
  • Ditto for changing autonomy. At least remove provinces that just got lowered so we can spam click the whole list down, better if there was a way to mass lower or raise autonomy.
  • Better state edict macro builder. I should be able to select an edict and then spam it around by clicking on states similar to building things. A mass edict option would be nice but less essential than the others. Could be Ctrl-click to set edicts for a region and Ctrl-Shift-click to set edicts for a sub continent.
  • When trying to delete buildings in the macro builder by right clicking the province it will screw up if trying to delete a building of a different rank. e.g., you have level 2 fort selected and are trying to delete forts but the province has a level 4 fort, instead you'll change to the diplomacy screen. Just delete the building as long as its of the same type even if its a different rank when we do this.
  • Option to only core provinces causing overextension when we hit core all in the coring screen.
  • Better army suppression. Ctrl-click to choose a whole region and Ctrl-Shift-click to choose a whole subcontinent. Without this things get super tedious whenever you have to manually order an army to do one thing but it cancels your suppression and you need to reclick dozens of states.
  • Option to specify an order of categories in the outliner, or at least preserve our order between saves.

Anyone have other ideas?

Reactions:
1. Ability to manually rename Areas. It always breaks the immersion for me when I play as Byzantium, recover Anatolia and see Greek or Latin names for cities and provinces while areas are in Turkish or Arabic

2. Lock colonies in their colonial region. For example colonial Brazil won’t go and colonise Florida but instead remain within its own colonial region at the cost of LD

3. Ability to spread main culture of your subject the way you can do it with religion

4. Ability to choose the capital of your colonial subject and historical colonial flag in creation menu or if you misclick it you can move the capital the way by spending your monarch points

5. Level up all three Buddhist denominations so it can be on the level of other religions

- A macro-builder or something to sell boats more easily. It's a pretty useful way to get extra money but how many people just delete extra boats instead because of how annoying it is to do?

- A hunt armies button. Chasing down enemies in areas like the Americas is so tedious.

- The ability to set auto-transport on different fleets to certain areas - like you can with the hunt enemy fleets mission - how annoying it is when you auto-transport an army in the Med only for your boats in Indonesia to sail half way across the world to pick them up

- Make it so the improve relations with ourtaged macro builder improves about 50 relations instead of 0.

- Allow a customiseable list of nations to improve relations with, so you can pick HRE Electors for example.

- Auto-explore button - so your exploration fleet can just keep going to the next available area to discover.

- Reduce autonomy in all possible provinces button.

I'm so glad they added autonomous missionaries. It sounds like such a small thing but it made my One Faith possible. It's a little annoying that they convert non-core provinces but overall, it's an incredible feature.

If I could add something, it'd be some way for the player to devolve control of an army to the AI. I don't think it's technically possible but hunting down tiny enemy stacks is quite tedious and irksome. What would be good is some equivalent of a "Guard Area" order where you can order an army to chase any enemy force that invades a region but otherwise doesn't leave the area.

Also, an actual mission tree for Ireland. We have a sapling that's somehow worse than the generic tree.

Add options for "Improve relations with outraged countries" to stop improving when relation gets to
- positive (current implementation I think)
- +50 (to remove from coalition)
- +75 (to create buffer prior to peace deal which generates aggressive expansion)
- +100 (as above)

Not sure where you get it was upsetting. On the contrary. You should be quite happy and Im happy for you that you can play for the rest of your life EU4 without having to pay for a single DLC more!
It's just really weird that you're reacting this way to a differing opinion about a computer game. I'm not sure why you feel the need to tell lies over it either. Very strange behaviour for a grown man is all I'm saying.

I enjoy EU4 but that doesn't mean I want to spend the rest of my life playing with it. It just means I like playing it. I've no idea why you're getting hysterical, honestly.

Is there a reason for that? It's never made sense to me.
It has something to do with it being easier to restart everything than to go thru all the variables the game has stored and restore them to default states. Here and here is something on the topic, quite likely in other places as well.

EDIT: Perhaps it's not just variables, could be that there's some self modifying code. Meaning that in normal code there would be a variable about some option, a check for the variable that executes one of two (or more) version of a function depending on the state of that variable, and there's also the two (or more) functions in memory, of which only one gets executed. In self modifying code, when starting the program, the variable is checked and the function mutated accordingly. So while the program is running there's no check for variable (even the variable itself can be ditched) and only one version of the function. Slightly better performance, a lot messier.

Someone who knowns more about coding can tell if the above is wrong, someone who knows more about EU can tell if it applies here.

I really want them to fix this bug already. It's even more annoying now that EU4 will no longer receive updates, and players will likely turn to popular mods for something new.
