If i install .25 now, will there be a big hassle (ice delete/ clean install entire game) when .30 comes out or can i just overwrite / somehow uninstall .25?
also, I play some games with daim+smep, is this a problem if i install core?
(note, i dont want to merge daim+smep+ core, but rather play some CORE games, and some daim+smep games - will just having them in the folder conflict a lot)

Not sure about your first post - but one of the CORE people will know. As far as having both DAIM-SMEP and CORE, as you know you can't really use them both together, but if you have separate folders for DD+DAIM and DD+CORE, they ought to work OK. I do this now for Armageddon - I've got one folder for DD-Armageddon and another for vanilla DD1.3a and CORE (and 3 icons on my desktop!).
No, a complete clean reinstall is not needed for 0.30 once it becomes available. We try to have all the mod-specific files within the moddir. In 0.25 we did have to add some game files to the regular folders, but that's because those wouldn't load the CORE file if there wasn't a matching file within the regular corresponding game directory. Apparently that's been fixed within 1.3a (though not for graphics!).
For 0.30 the graphics installer will add files to the regular DD graphics folders, but they won't overwrite existing files, as we're solely interested in inserting the dummy files we need. The actual COREd graphics will be installed in the moddir.
As to DAIM and SMEP I'm pretty confident that adding CORE to those won't cause problems, but I'm not sure as I have tried neither.
