SO, apparently blobbing is pretty much historical.

Blobbing is most certainly historical, but the decline, breakdown, collapse, destruction, partition and/or dismantling of blobs happens organically (obviously, it is reality). Would be cool to see that kind of organic rise and fall in games.

One cool thing about the video is seeing the tiny purple speck in Germany halfway through the video (Brandenburg) and seeing it grow until eventually it covers most of the map during World War II, then it collapses completely.
