Can we please, please stop the AI from using all its diplomatic play points on irrelevant and ridiculous war goals? It makes no sense whatsoever historically, gameplay-wise or what the game is claimed to be, that is "not a wargame" as so feverishly claimed. As it is, AI absolutely cannot help but go full force demanding everything it can even when it has nothing to gain from those but everything to lose. Let me tell of the latest example even though I believe nobody needs examples about this since most wars especially after play points are increased via tech goes like this:
NGF starts a unification play in 1910, I hop onboard to help them because ALL of its unification plays ALWAYS it manages to fail because of the topic's reason. And lo and behold, it does it again, demands:
- half of Belgium
- liberation of Corsica and Brittany
Heck, I don't want either of those because it's stupid to say the least but the game forces me to help for ALL the demands. I can't say, "hey bud, I'm gonna help unify your country but not messing up everything else". Because the diplo-play system is abysmally bad. Whatever, that is an altogether different thread matter. Here the ridiculous situation is that NGF cannot tick warscore below 0 because nobody is on Corsica or Brittany even though those are secondary goals. And Alsace-Lorraine is occupied as the primary demand but no, the braindead maximalist AI sets itself up for failure. It has no navy to do a landing on Corsica but ties up unification goal with absolutely irrelevant secondary goals.
Why? What does this serve and why does the AI play the game like it's trying to paint the map?
