Giving this a bump, as this is now happening for me too. One small amendment, I find that if I simply cut the text (ctrl X) and paste it back in (ctrl V), there's no need to refresh the page.

I’m on a tablet, using Safari, if that information is useful.

I have a suspicion that every time I receive an alert (new posts to a thread I’m following, being @‘d, etc.), the ‘post/edit’ button becomes nonfunctional. Every time I have to go through the rigmarole I described above, the alert button lights up after I hit refresh. Not so sure about the edit function, but I think it’s the same issue: if the system has an alert for me while I’m posting or editing (which I don’t see as the page hasn’t refreshed yet), then the post or edit is blocked. The edit, unfortunately, is permanently blocked, as if the time limit had expired.

Do all of you have some alerts enabled? Do the unaffected people have alerts disabled?

edit: when attempting edits that don’t go through, the ‘save’ button on the upper R side is always grayed out.

Just ran into this problem as well, but it seems I've got a different variation: I cannot post at all using firefox (even with copy-paste-refresh stuff), but switching to edge seems to solve the problem entirely.
Doesn't seem to be related to getting alerts while writing the posts for me either, since I wasn't getting any while writing/refresh spamming the post when I was in firefox.

Axe99 may have found the issue with being unable to edit posts:

At least in my testing so far. I can post with an emoji, but it won't let me edit a post with an emoji in it (it brings up the edit screen, but clicking "save" does nothing). It's a bit peculiar, and it may not be everyone. Repro'd issue on Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and Firefox/Edge where cleared cookies/caches/etc., Just mentioning here in case it's useful intel.

Thanks to @ero_sk and their post at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/unable-to-post-with-emoji.1667335/ which was the clue needed to test.

I’ve been having trouble on Safari, but haven’t noticed if it was due to emojis. I’ll keep an eye out for that now.

@Axe99 may have solved this for me. I stopped using emojis and haven’t had a single problem posting or editing.

Of course, that makes it more likely my intended tone won’t be conveyed.
