igc/editing .eug files help?

when i try to run igc config, popup says "failed to read essential file" and tells me to extract igc, which i thought i had done.
also, when i open scenarios .eug files, i see nothing like what is shown in yarricks how to play minors thread

Just to cover the basics.
1) You unzipped (extracted) into your EU directory?
2) Ran patch.exe?
3) Only then run igcconfig.exe.

There are threads on the scenario forum about problems like this. They might cover this problem. Or perhaps one of the other IGC pros has some better answers.

One thing about winzip - it is important to extract all files - when you press the extract button, there is a checkbox for "extract" all files or somesuch. There is also a checkbox for "recurse directories" or something. Both should be checked.

i figured out how to edit playable countries but when i click on the patch for the igc, "failed to read text.csv..." appears and i still have the same problem with config

There is a problem where files are "read-only" - right click on text.csv (in the \config folder" - if it is "read-only", click the appropriate checkbox off. You will then need to run patch.exe again.

Yup... I had that problem once as well... I just did a complete reinstall. DAMN, I wish I had asked State about it then
