Il Dolce Duce - A New YeAAR Gift - Alternate KR

It was the celebration of the new year in Italy, 1937, the entire italian cabinet was gathered, the Duce was present but left soon, taken by memories of the troubles that plagued the past.
First the defeat in the Weltkrieg and subsequent humiliation of Italy, losing territories to Austria being occupied and reorganised in the North while in the south the Kingdom of Two-Sicilies was revived under a Habsburg monarch.
The Duce then a socialist, enraged and influenced by syndicalist ideas helped the revolution that brought down the monarchical regime in the south and was one of the founding members of the the Republic of Sicilies.
But alas it wouldn't last, in less than a year he and his "National Syndicalists" grew more and more disturbed by the displays of weakness made by the fellow syndicalists, and then a final and astounding event convinced Mussolini to break up.
In a morning of July 1923, a man claiming to be from the future barged into his office and demanded to be heard. Mussolini wisely agreed as he was carrying a very strange and sophisticated weapon. The man them informed him of "fascism" a strange new ideology, but not unsimilar with National Syndicalism.
He also gave Mussolini a detailed outline of all events in the nearby future (1923, 1936), which Mussolini used to gain power. Breaking with the syndicalists he formed the Fascist Party and taking a moment of instability in 1925 his agents exploded several bombs in a meeting of the Italian Federation near the Vatican.

The Pope died along with most of the Curia, the Church was thrown into chaos, the nobility accused the syndicalists, the conservative peasants of the south rebelled against the Republic of Sicilies, the Fascists then marched on Rome and quickly seized all of Italy.
The Republic of Italy was created with Mussolini as it's leader with the title of Duce, he soon anihilated all oposition and the only party left was the Fascist, Germany reluctantly approved the new Republic fearing a French invasion for the fallen sicilian "comrades", or an Austrian invasion for the rights of the exiled Habsburg nobles.
Italy then prospered, the Duce knew the result of his every action until 1936, and he used it all to make the country one of the most modern and industrialised countries in the world, helping capitalists create many powerful new italian corporations and dominate the gobal market.
He was now ready for his great gamble, rebuilding the Roman Empire in all it's mighy and glory! Ave Mussolini!
