I figured out the issue on my end. I'm playing on a computer with both integrated graphics and a 3070. The game default chooses integrated graphics, and from what I've read, the game won't launch on integrated graphics. Go into your Nvidia control panel > Program settings, use the drop down menu to select the game, and then change it from integrated graphics to your high end graphics card. Restart the game and you should be good to go.

The game default chooses integrated graphics,
FYI that choice is made by the nVidia utilities, not the game. It is set in the nVidia control panel, Manage 3D Settings.

Sorry, I'm not seeing where that option is offered to you - can you clarify please?

I understand, but how do you fix the bug then, I wish I could play, but it stays on this loading screen endlessly
Then you have an unrelated problem to the one discussed in this thread. Always best to make your own dedicated thread, thanks.

I'm having this exact same problem. Recently got a new PC, reinstalled the game and decided to splurge and buy the various DLCs. But every time I get to the load screen, it's just sits there. Music plays, tips scroll by over and over, you can even move the cursor (though it's perpetually a clock face icon). When you move the cursor around the screen, you can even hear the clicking noises the game makes when you mouse over something you can interact with. It even registers the different click noise when you press the left mouse button. But nothing actually changes. I let it sit for 10 minutes and still nothing happened. I even disabled all the DLC, thinking it maybe had something to do with that, as my vanilla version of the game worked just fine. Same problem.

Ok so I checked another thread about this (there's like 10 of them, apparently a very common issue) and I find a tip that worked for me. You know that one window that keeps popping up when you first load the game, asking you to allow the paradox system to allow popups or whatever? Well I always just close that out and ignore it. But this time I allowed it, actively clicked the Allow choice, and now all my content is being recognized and I was able to load into a game. So try that maybe?

Can confirm that this worked for me today!

Got the game free from the Epic Game Store today, and when the intro video started playing on first launch, Firefox popped open an entire new window containing the request to (I think) link my Epic account and my Paradox account? So I closed the whole thing because I was annoyed that I was missing the video, and then got stuck entering my first game. But clicking Allow in that browser window closed it, and when I started my first game again, it loaded in seconds, no problem.

I have the same problem but in offline mode. The loading screen is for like forever. Seems like this is recently a common issue when playing in Epic game. Hopefully they can fix this soon.

I got it to work! This was the decisive hint.
I did not understand what people were referring to where I heard about account being linked and a popup. I had never seen any popup. But learning that the EXE was supposed to launch Firefox (which isn't even in my Wine prefix), I could suspect that this opening a popup was what Wine couldn't do.

For other Linux users, here is the trick:
  1. Use Heroic, the best solution for any Epic game.
  2. Go in the settings of the game, in the "Wine" tab I was using Proton7 but this was not enough. Additionally, go into the "Other" tab and check "Use Steam runtime".
  3. Restart the game. Now the popup will appear, the runtime will allow Firefox to be called.
  4. Link the account and you're ready to play!
