Does it work when you disable all other mods?
Still doesn't work :( I've created a new playset only with this mod and nothing pops up. I can go to the mod settings and change things there, but ctrl+O still doesn't work (and changing the shortcut is not doing anything, it still doesn't show up)...

Everything worked fine a week ago, I haven't changed anything since then. So I don't know what's causing this

Okay, the next thing to do is check that the mod is actually loading. Drop your Player.log, Modding.log, and Image Overlay.log log files here and I'll take a look.

Hope this helps!
Well, yes and no... the mod itself is working fine, but that also means I've got no idea why the hotkey isn't working for you. You've tested without other mods, but are you sure that there's no hotkey conflict anywhere else (including game settings)? Have you also verified your game install?

Hello! Looks like I've found the problem!

There was nothing wrong with my game install, I reinstalled the game and the problem was the same, no matter what I did ctrl+O wouldn't work.

I've played a bit with more settings, and the problem was the Overlay Elevation. The default number is 5. It looks like my map needed 351 to show up!

It resets every time I open the game, and no matter how many times I try to open the overlay with Ctrl+O, the overlay is covered by the terrain itself. So I need to change the number every time I load the game. It's weird since last week the overlay would stay the same and I could see it, but this week it seems like I have to manually change the number every time.

I am having issues also. Worked fine for a few days after trying it and then stopped working about 3 days ago. I tried what cripuskas did but it did not work for me. I disabled all mods and only had Image overlay on, still CTRL+O does nothing. Thanks for any algernon.

Interesting! It should automatically adjust to the map - is this happening on only one map, or on multiple? If only one, which map is it?

Assuming you've definitely tested the map elevation, then drop your log files here - Player.log, Modding.log, Image Overlay.log so I can see if anything's broken.

Unfortunately, it's happening on multiple maps. This is the one I've been playing on: European Riverside by Bleedz. The elevation resets itself from 351 to 5 every time I reopen the game.

The thing is - the option to "Show overlay through terrain" is not working properly :(

Some things I've noticed:
- every time I reopen the game, the Elevation settings are being rewritten to the default ones AND even if "Show overlay through terrain" is selected, it does nothing
- I have to adjust the Elevation every time, and I have to click AGAIN on "Show overlay through terrain" to deselect and select it (turn it off/on) to work

That sounds as though something is interfering with the settings saving. Does all this happen with ONLY this mod active?

Still happens with only this mod active. I've used the playset containing only this mod and it's doing the same thing unfortunately...
This is very strange - neither myself nor a couple of other testers can reproduce your issue, even when using that specific map. This means it's almost certainly something very specific to your computer. Are you running any antivirus software that could interfere with files?

Can you see the mod's settings file (Image Overlay.coc) in your local settings directory? If so, does deleting it help?

Found the settings file, but deleting it didn't help... I've launched the game and adjusted everything, and one interesting thing I've noticed is even after deleting it, the "Show overlay through terrain" seemed to be turned on ALREADY, but did not do anything properly (you can see in the screenshots that it does NOT cover all terrain), so I had to turn it off and on again to work (Screenshots 1-3).

The thing is - even after closing the game and relaunching it, I have to do everything again: Elevate the terrain and turn that thing off/on to work (Screenshot 4).

I'm sorry for bothering you with all these things :( It's just something weird happening here. Perhaps it's just my game acting crazy... At least I found a way for it to work, even if I have to do something every time I launch the game. It's fine

I'm using Bitdefender by the way, I don't think there should be any problem with it interfering with the game files

Bitdefender is usually fine... and the rest really isn't making any sense. The only thing to do from here is for me to work directly with you on Discord where I can provide you with some custom builds to run to produce specific logging data. Is that possible?

Steam.
Proton Experimental, Garuda Linux (Arch)
In that case I believe it should be somewhere under 'compatdata/${appId}' in your installation location (maybe under pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/LocalAppDataLow/, but this might not be the case depending upon your specific setup). If it's not there, you might be better off asking on a dedicated Linux/Proton forum rather than here.
