Imperial Zenith - A Multiplayer AAR

The Dutch empire succumbed to a reactionary revolt when the session began(AI lost capital to them) and 6 days into the session they took power. In the following years I mainly built up an army and fleet in Asia, annexing Atjeh, Brunei, and Cambodia. Then a major revolt hapenned in the Netherlands, this time Jacobins. Since I had been struggling with rebels for 30 years I decided to let them win. I got all reforms trough, and didn't have to worry for rebels until the end of the session. Awesome!

Then partipated in the war against Germany, and acquired Great Power status. Next move will be colonizing Africa and the remaining parts of Indonesia. I also feel like conquering some Ottoman lands, but I don't know how the other powers feel about that.

Completion of the 3rd Mexican-American War - After some bloody battles, the USA claimed Nevada-Utah and Sonora, while Texas took Arizona and Chihuahua
Afgahni - Kokand War - Where Afgahnistan attempted to liberate the province of Farrah from opressive Kokandi rule, but got smacked down by Russia, protecting it's central Asian interests
Successful Rebellion in the Netherlands - succeeded in installing a dictatorship.
Scandinavian - Sindh War - Scandinavia cut Sindh down to size, as they felt threatened by this tiny, tiny nation.
Dutch War of Agression - The Netherlands, with their shiny new Presidental Dictatorship went nuts in South-East Asia, fighting inconclusive wars against Dai Viet and Cambodia.
French Annexation of Morocco - Finally completed in Summer 1856
German -Austrian War - The Germans comprehensively beat the Austrians, and due to an inability of the other European Great Powers to intervene on Austrias side, the Austrians signed a humiliating peace, relinquishing Bohemia and Moravia to the Germans.
Belgium - Scandinavian War over Chile - In a moment of madness, the Belgians declared war on the Scandinavians to attempt to get Chile into their sphere. This went badly wrong when Scandinavias new ally, France decided to put a halt to Belgiums delusions of grandeur
Zanzibarian Independance from Portugal in 1857 - but in two wars over the next twenty years, Portugal brought Zanzibar back into the imperial fold
Dutch Conquest of Portuguese Macao - successful, but the Dutch lost Macao to the French in a very brief war in 1868
War of Colombian Agression against Peru, Argentina, Paraguay - fought to a humiliating white peace, as Colombia greatly underestimated the forces arrayed against it. The main trigger for massive expansion of the Colombian army (60 brigades by 1874)
German Liberation of Schleswig - Holstein - France and Russia intervened, but the excellent German Army forced them to the negotiating table, and their demands were met
Acquisition of Dutch Atjeh - a breif war, resulting in further Dutch expansion in Indonesia
Spanish Conquest of Alentjo - further Spanish oppression of their Iberian brothers

German War of Scandinavian Containment, including the Austro-Hungarian liberation of Bohemia - the German AI goes mad again, but is beaten down by a massive coalition. Austria-Hungary reclaims Bohemia and Moravia, Schleswig-Holstein is returned, and the Russias are given East Prussia.
Multiple Belgian wars of Humiliation against states in the Middle East - Belgian delusions of grandeur continue, much to the displeasure of the Arabs
1866 German war of Wallonia - the Germans take Wallonia from Belgium, with France unable to intervene due to a truce. Belgians become a one-state Great Power
1867 Colombian war of Pastaza - the Colombians return to Peru, this time successfully
Canadian Independance, in 1867
Construction of the Kiel canal, in 1867
4th Mexican -American War - but this time, fought solely between Texas and Mexico. Saw the reduction of Mexico to a single state.
Liberation of Wallonia - a large coalition of states once again fought against the might of Germany. War was fought to a successful end by late 1874, and Germany was forced to submit to arms limitations to prevent future agression by them. Well over 100 brigades of German troops were destroyed during the war.

The Final Session?

Major World Events
War of British Agression versus France - ended with the humiliation of France, after a battle in Normandy containing about 1.5million troops took so long that everyone got bored and went home.
Numerous Wars of Scandinavian Containment - several players didn't show up for this session, and with Scandinavian BB over the limit, there was a steady stream of containment wars all session.
Austro-Hungarian War of Oberbayen - fought to a successful conclusion, with AH taking two states from Germany.
Texan War of Honduras, 1875 - which ended with the dissolution of the USCA, and a quick second war gobbled up the newly independant Guatemala
Belgian Colonial War for Warri - fought to a white peace, as despite the French being distracted against the British, Belgium could not bring about enough military power to decisively beat France on the battlefield.
Texan Annexation of Haiti in 1877 - America went to dinner, and Texas snuck in and annexed their ally Haiti, in Operation 'Irritate Noddy'
Japan - Siam War - over the concession of Udn Thai
Texan Annexation of Mexico - after about 6 wars, the independance of Mexico is finally extinguished in December 1878
Bolivian Liberation of Argentinian Jujay - a successful war, as Argentina was wracked by constant revolution. Bolivia lost the province again in a later war.
Texan war of Chilian Arcasomethingorother - And Texan South America was born!
War of the Siamese Singapore Concession - against the Netherlands. The Belgians came to the aid of the Siamese, once again suffering delusions of grandeur
Spanish Annexation of Hedjaz in 1881

Mass rebellion in Germany - which led to many states leaving the German state. Several were resubmitted by force later on.
2nd Brazilian War of Alto Paraguay - fought to a successful conclusion for Brazil. Bolivia lost a province to both Brazil and Argentina in the fighting.

British War of Propping up the CSA - This was the big one. The British and the French went to war with a totally unprepared USA with the aim of granting freedom to the Confederacy. The USA had a very technologically backward and tiny military, and so was powerless, but was able to claim the spot of Number one country in the world despite having 3 quarters of it's mainland territory occupied and losing every battle it fought.

The Brave Texans declared war on British ally The Netherlands to enter the war (although they remained at peace with the French, due to being sphered...). Fought a successful battle against the Dutch in Central America, before marching around 100 brigades North into the USA. Fought numerous, futile engagements against the British, particularly at the Battle of Columbus in defence of American Freedom. Faced with another Dutch invasion on Central America, the bulk of the Texan army marched South, leaving the French and British to occupy most of the US and Northern Texas.

Seeing an opportunity for explotiation, the Colombians joined the war, but their Army was soundly beaten and retreated behind the Panama canal.
A white peace was signed with Texas, in return for the USA granting independance to the Manhatten Commune and CSA.

Acquisition of Dutch Siam - completed in 1887, despite the best efforts of the Belgians
Spanish Colonial War for Ruwayshid - incomplete by session end
Russian - Chinese War of the Mongolian Concession - incomplete by session end
Dutch Colonial War for Benin - a brief war, to exchange territories in Africa with as little bloodshed as possible

And that's that! With Patch 1.2 to arrive shortly, and with us already in the section of the game where war becomes impossibly boring due to long battles and low casulties, it is very unlikely we will play another session. Hope you enjoyed our 52 years of madness! A comedic update shall follow this shortly, and don't be surprised if the other players pop in with their viewpoint on things.
