In all the games we have played we had a sync loss somewhere in the game.
Examples are:
*Tech researched on client, but not on host.
*Client is doing fine , but other clients see him with high dissent and very low IC (resource shortage, propably lost trade agreement)
*Loss of local flags / event info. (USSR choosed purge but "purge" flag was absent in hosts savegame)

using hamachi does improve the situation, but not solve it.

Depending on how the mp communication works, implement a "safe" connection where transmissions are acknowledged and are resend if no acknowledge is recieved.
Or once a month make a checksum and sync clients to host.

It is a known issue that in multiplayer games the clients are sometimes several weeks behind the host. I am not sure what to do about this but it happens allot.

hmm...
we turn the speed down so the smallest client always can follow the host
(so the more units the game has the slower the game progresses)

However that is not the problem.
The problem is that packets get "lost"...
try to compare 2 savegames from 2 different clients after 4-5 hours of playing.
there will be hundreds of differences... Most harmless..
others include the ones mentioned above.

It is all part of the same bug, it has been a known bug for sometime (HoI 2 original release) and it is probably safe to assume it will not get fixed. (speaking for myself not Paradox)

That would be a bad move on paradox's part.

This is one of the most game-breaking bugs for us here, and i think it deserved an official fix.

also Now is the last chance to make a official fix, before the source is released... (hopefully)
