Here's my Impossible Wish this Christmas for Paradox games.
A combined EU/HOI/Vicky that starts in ancient ages and goes on toward space colonization. Each new era produced as an addition package like DD and Arma.
The player can start at earliest recorded history era and work his empire up through all the eras (assuming his empire survives intact) up and into colonizing new planets and fighting competing human empires and/or aliens.
Each sold separately (devs deserve to be able to pay their rent and feed their families too)
For game changes and/or adjustments, my Impossible Wish is for the devs to finally get it firmly lodged into their brains that there's a huge difference between a pop up that serves as a nice reminder or notification, and a pop up that serves as an annoying slap each time it jumps up center screen and completely covers up what you're trying to look at.
The ability to customize what pops up and what doesn't is a real nice start, but that's only half the problem. Y'all devs do show you know how to work the magic with trade flags in HOI and alliance requests in EU. So, that leaves the impression that the other huge and annoyingly annoying popups are possibly an indicator of a gas bubble formed in the thought processors.
More customizable management options. Then some more. And finally more. I'm sure there's been plenty good ideas submitted by long-time players so no specifics in this particular Impossible Wish.
Bring HOI into the 20th century of professionally produced programing by providing the ability to adjust display resolutions without having to jump through hoops with 3rd party programs or hacks. No real excuse for that lacking. Also, clean up the bugs that have been in the program since day one. It's been long enough. Your customers have figured out fixes, no excuse for you to not have published official patches to address the problems.
Add to the usual difficulty choices with options on what level to participate in combat.
General level- as now exists. Micro manage each unit or stack of units.
Marshal level - manage the logistics on a front and set strategic goals which the generals (AI) follow through on. Player managed options on who leads what units. Promote/Courts Martial authority on generals for successes or failures.
National leader level - combat as an abstract. Yes or No power on strategic goals submitted by your Marshals. All combat AI managed. Primary focus on managing national assets, popular support for the war and national politics.
So, basically my Impossible Wish is to have
One Game! to bind them. One Game! to rule them all. One Game! in the darkness to find me playing way too long.
