Any improvements to UK/US builds? Seem to focus very heavily on Aircraft, they'll easily destroy Germanys economy while Japan runs roughshod over... well, everywhere (perhaps its my fault, I held off conquering the world as Germany and defeated the bombers, 2 years later Japan had taken over Africa, Australia, India, parts of Russia...)

29% of their unit production IC goes to land army, I can try to up the numbers slightly for next version, maybe to 33%.

However, the reason ive made UK and USA build airforce and navy so heavily, is the nature of their war. They rely heavily on invasions and transporting troops long distances. The AI, sadly, is a complete idiot what it comes to defending its transports, something I cant edit, so what often happens is that UK and USA, and also Japan, lose a considerable amount of divisions just by sending in undefended transports to dangerous areas which then get sunk and take the divisions with them. So I figured making them build airforce and fleet is a somewhat safer option.

But ill see what I can do, maybe editing garrison AIs can help there aswell, thanks for the feedback!

Any recent update on this awesome mod? I heard you were thinking in adding the Thai war in Cambodia and the ataccks on Vichy navy.

I played through this mod as Finland. Noticed some odd things:

-German AI tried to invade France and the low countries during the winter of 1939 right after Poland, amid awful weather.
While they won eventually it took ages, and they lost like 600k manpower in the process. Because they got bogged down early France basically held it's national borders over winter and the whole thing devolved into a sortof repeat of World War 1, until things thawed out and Germany eventually wore them down.

Germany then rushed the balkans and declared war on the Soviet Union while it was still 1940, didn't get far - the early invasion of France resulted in the Norway campaign being messed up, the British invaded just after Norway was annexed and Germany was seemingly too busy to kick them out.

I don't know if early wars are a consistent thing or if it was just my game, but it really didn't help Germany much to rush France in my game.

First of all, I would just say that I truly appreciate this mod. I have played it a bit over x-mas, and it really improves the game.

I particularly liked the event for Nationalist Spain joining Axis, it gives the outcome of the SCW a far greater meaning.

I do have one suggestion for change: Is there a way that Italy could respond and shape its dispositions after a changed strategic context?
If Germany takes Suez and Gibraltar is in axis hands, could Italy send forces to Northern Africa? (possibly even East Africa?)

In my latest game, Axis controlled the whole of Africa and no ships could enter the Mediterranean, but Italy was still sitting put guarding their beaches.

Hey Dichromate, thanks for the feedback. Early German assault on France is the usual strategy from the German AI, reason behind is simply the fact that with each passing month, the Allies and Comintern get stronger and stronger. If German AI would wait untill spring for its offensive on France, Belgium and Netherlands would have built strong fortifications behind the rivers, France may have expanded the Maginot-line to some extent, not to mention spam the remaining manpower it has and has a few crucial technologies researched. So the benefits of the improved weather are somewhat negated by the stronger defensive positions the Allies would receive during the winter period.

And, delaying the assault on France, would inevitably delay the assault on Soviet Union, German AI must attack Soviets at 1940, earlier, the better because with each passing month the Soviets spam their army like theres no tomorrow. Worst case scenario would be that Germany needs to wait to spring of 1941 for Barbarossa, at that date, I am unsure whether the German AI has any chance to defeat the Soviet AI anymore. SOV AI becomes a monster in 1941 if left alone, which is why German AI is in such a hurry to attack it. The next update brings some changes to the German troop composition and other stuff, which may slightly improve the situation.

Glad you like the mod FMRokossovsky, the switch AI for Italy in case of Axis controlling the Mediterranea has been on the to-do list for a long time. Thanks to your feedback, I now added it to the next update.

Thank you for the new update!

Just wanted you to know that some people are still following your great mod and care.

This is incredibly minor, but out of curiosity does Tannu Tuva start as a puppet of the USSR? :p

After all, if Mongolia does...

Also in the original HOI2 Yemen was a puppet of Britain. IRL it was actually rather hostile to Britain, on decent terms with Italy, and had claims on Aden (aka southern Yemen on the map.)

Starting political status for the nations in question has not been modified in this mod. Tannu Tuva does not start out as a USSR puppet, I am unfamiliar with its history, so dont know whether or not it should. Yemen is no longer a puppet of UK in AoD and it has its claims on Aden aswell. If I remember right, IRL it had some kind of defensive pact with Italy aswell, and Yemenese mercenaries were partially involved in the Ethiopian war.

EDIT:

Had a look at its wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuvan_People's_Republic

It clearly states Tuva was a satellite state of the USSR, will have it as a Soviet puppet in the upcoming version of this mod.

After years of work, I can finally announce the beta stage to be over for the scenario, say hello to Improved 1936 version 1.0!

Download: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=124152&d=1424208312

Extensive update, changelog coming soon:

- Tannu Tuva begins as a Soviet puppet
- Fixed Sarawaks 10 escorts to be transports
- Added a forgotten 10 starting convoys to India
- AI Italy now builds only brigaded infantry
- Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Mexico and Turkey builds more infra
- Some starting techs tweaked for the new UK puppets
- Sudan given a starting army
- Indian, Romanian, Japanese and Italian starting constructions reworked
- AI China doesent research hospitals anymore
- Post-SCW AI for SPR
- Removed the mods tech events, which reduced the cost of some units based on certain techs
- Removed Mengkukuo expansion events, due to the area receiving a resource overhaul
- New events concerning Vichy Fleet, including the attack on Mers-el-Kébir and Battle of Dakar
- Increased the neutrality of Chinese Warlords
- Oil nationalization event for Mexico
- Added several embargo AIs that trigger with certain conditions, for example, UK, Dutch and USA AI now embargo Japan when the oil embargo event triggers for USA
- Sarawak now has its extended cores at start
- Several new AI events of various importance
- Tweaked starting constructions for a bunch of nations
- France now builds the historical battleship and battlecruisers again, aswell as slightly more infra, even some infra to Brazzaville to prepare for the struggle in the colonies
- Fixed the broken vanilla Chinese inheritance events, so they now trigger in MP too
- Modified the USSR capital changing events, they now trigger when their capital is threatened by an enemy
- Japan can now send aid to Madagascar through an event
- Reworked the Iraqi coup and the following Anglo-Iraqi war, and events concerning it, like the Paris Protocols for VIC-GER, it now has a high chance of triggering unless UK garrisons Iraq very heavily, Germany can also choose to send aid to Iraq in an event
- Rewritten Operation Torch, now has more chances to trigger, aswell as partially rewrote the colonial defections between VIC-FRA in Africa. They are now closely tied to the outcome of Battle of Dakar and whether or not Vichy can control the North African key provinces, giving a real incentive for the Allies to attack there, also reworked the Dissolution of Vichy, which triggers for Germany after Vichy has lost Africa, giving Germany the option to annex, puppet or keep Vichy as an ally
- More nations now choose national ideas that give an IC bonus
- Colonial nations, and nations in great risk of changing sides now have universal idea changing AI events, which let them change their ideas if their new government allows a better one to be installed, the new events are persistent so they trigger also if a nation gets annexed and then liberated again with poor national ideas
- Dutch now receive manpower from Dutch East Indies after their capitulation, the manpower from the areas is further increased for a liberated Indonesia
- Reworked several colonial nation AIs due to the new resource overhaul
- Went through the AI files with AoD Validator, fixed a bunch of typos and duplicated IDs
- Toned down some unnecessary espionage values for several AIs
- Created a custom AI for the few forgotten nations that still lacked them
- Redid the alternative Vanilla Scenario, it is now normal Improved 1936 scenario, but with India being part of UK again and France having several more starting constructions to slow its gearing. This is designated to work well for multiplayer games where UK player wishes to keep India as a part of UK
- And as per usual, alot of small things I probably forgot

And the largest change:

African, some Mideastern, Caribbean and Asian colonial nations have now gotten a massive overhaul. Upon liberation, they receive an event which grants them more onmap resources, IC and manpower. The revolter events have been tweaked so they receive less offmap IC and resources due to the improved onmap values. The extra dissent cost for liberating nations have now been reinstated from vanilla game, but they have been tweaked to more sensible leves. Depending on the strength of the liberated puppet, the liberating now gives 1%-7% dissent hit.

The new resource values are a mixture of the AoD resources and the resource values from the inspirational CORE mod. Much thanks to the CORE team and Tegetthoff for giving me the permission to add them. Their mod can be found here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?529-CORE

Most notable puppet nations after the overhaul:

Manchukuo: Now has a great deal more manpower and better resources, but has lost the offmap resources
Nigeria: An excellent manpower gain now, largest in Africa
Rhodesia&Nyasaland: Greatly increased rare production in its area
Benin-Sahel: Has a good manpower if liberated in the largest form
Morocco: Good overall puppet, gets resources in Spanish morocco if its able to somehow obtain them
Algeria: Decent resources&manpower
East African Union: Decent manpower
Union of Mali: Decent manpower
Egypt: Good manpower and better resources
Burma: Nice resource production, even considerable oil sources
Indonesia: Massive manpower with all the islands within its ownership
Trinidad&Tobago/West Indies: Nice oil production

So go ahead and have a go with some liberated puppets, they are quite usefull now. Some nations gain bonuses when given their cores, like China or Mengukuo to the provinces originally controlled by Japan, or Ethiopia to Eritrea.

Enjoy the 1.0!

Thank you for you great work on this!

I seem unable to open the download php file. I copied it into the game folder and clicked on it and I see a black dos type screen flash on, then off. I try unzipping next with 7zip and the same thing.

I am running Windows 8.

Any suggestions?

I finally went to my old Vista computer and it downloaded as a zip file just fine.

My new WIN 8 computer however downloads the file as a php which will not open. Bill Gates sucks!

Speaking of which:

- Added an additional event to Vichy losing the Battle of Dakar, which make nearby Vichy puppets change sides if they exist
- Fixed Ethiopian AI refusing to join in an alliance with Italy
- Began tweaking some colonial boost events according to the newest CORE update
- Added the AI event files for the remaining nations, with some national idea change events for the less frequently seen nations like Israel, Ceylon or China-Nanjing

That mounts up for an impressive 190 AI event files!

Version 1.01 : http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=124267&d=1424358530

Aha so Windows 8 was the culprit then. Very well, future versions will be compressed as .zips then since theres nothing wrong with them.

I finally figured out the WIN 8 download problems of ZIP type files. After finally doing a search on the internet or win 8 zip php problems it turns out that the problem only seems to happen when using Internet Explorer. Using Google Chrome browser there is no problem.

GEEZE!!!

Lol xD what a peculiar "feature", well good thing you found the real cause for the problem and a working solution :)
