I'm doing the Terrafinto challenge where you need to get Terraform everything at 100%. After about sol 120, I was at 100% Air, Temp, and Water while my vegetation was at roughly 30%. I've now covered the entire map with Forestation Plants, but after reaching 40%, they no longer increase the vegetation total. The only way I can see how to increase vegetation is to send a rocket to Seed Vegetation for 5% every 5-10 sols. Are there no other ways? I mean, I still have another 120 sols to get a perfect time, but that's so incredibly tedious. Or am I missing something?

So there's seriously no way to increase vegetation beyond 40% besides the seeding planetary project? Does cloud seeding just cause rain to improve your local soil quality?
Yes and yes.

However you say that about cloud seeding like it isn't tremendously useful. For how cheap it is to do you can get your forestation plants a big head start and boost the output of your open farms which are the best food source in the game.

So, basically, unlike every other terraforming parameter, there is one, and only one, way to get vegetation up to 100% and that's totally RNGesus based. Count on once a month getting to increase 5%. :(
Heck, I wouldn't mind burning a rocket. I'm dying of boredom here, waiting for the stupid mission to pop... possibly it's my martians who are dying of my boredom.. heh heh heh.

So its probably best not to get worked up over the vegetation parameter unless you are going for the achievement for getting 100% the first time. The parameter does 2 things. First is it makes it more likely for seeds to take hold. So your outdoor farms take fewer seeds to upkeep and your forestation plants take less time to green up their local area. The second is it makes the globe view have more green. Those are it. So don't sweat it so hard. Its a long term goal with a rather minor effect after the first time.

Right, I expect I will never bother getting it past 40% after the first time. I must've had it in my head that there was some kind of spreading of vegetation (via spores) after other parameters reached a certain level, must've been wishful thinking on my part, or another persons. (via mind spores/post)
