Impulse CD Key Doesn't Work In Steam?

Hi all. I've recently bought a digital copy of CIM from Impulse. Impulse sent me a 4x6 serial (registration) code. But when I tried to add the game on Steam as a Steam game, it tells me that the CD key is invalid. Is there anyway I can match the CD key and add the game onto Steam? Thanks!

No, the Impulse version is a non-steam version. If you want the game to show on steam you can add it as a non-steam game. This option is not really useful, it will not allow you to buy DLC or update the game.

If you are worried about getting patches and DLC, I think you can get the DLC from http://www.gamersgate.com/
And the patches are right over here.
