I don't understand how experienced developers can miss (or not tested) the things they promised when raised funds.
Not blame you, simple don't understand it.
Missing is easy - just have enough developers working on the same thing, there's bound to be some differences in how you do things. Also, best practices and implementations change during development, so it's easy enough to understand how some strings were tagged for localisation and some not.

Testing is actually what brought the issue to HBS' attention, so I think it's rather unfair to hold that against them.

Finally, the "promise": Here's what the Kickstarter campaign stated (and still states):
"The game will also be made available in German, French, and Russian (with localized text, and audio subtitles) in a post-launch update."

Hi @Sonatix - I understand how it can be difficult to understand these difficulties! :) Indeed, I've been involved with localizing games since 1995, including many sim-ship situations. One thing that I can tell you from experience is that no two game development productions are the same - they differ in complexity, people, tech, ambition, resources, budget, time, pressure, changing market landscape, management, first iterations vs expansions or sequels, and on and on...many factors can make things easier or harder. Taking on a new title as ambitious as BT, with as many constraints as we had ("punching above our weight" as we sometimes say), I would echo what @stjobe said above: missing is easy. This is not to excuse or make light of anything that has been delayed or changed for any reason or factor. Only to say in general it should not be too surprising for a big title from any small studio that the 2 1/2 year crystal ball would not be entirely perfect. Know that we are working as hard and as fast as we possibly can to correct the situation and make it right.
 
Thanks HBS, we older Guys don´t have a Problem with that. If the Localisation comes now with the DLC or not, makes no odds.

It´s like the old time, when you have a good old C 64 / C 128 or the first PC´s with MS-Dos Operation Software. There you had to learn english commands quite fast or you were not playing anything. That were a great time and the young Guys have to be travel back in that time to learn that such things are not naturally.

And another thing of that time was, you had a game and you got no fixes. You played it or you played it not. Fixes were later only availible for the PC Games / Mac Games on a Game Journal which costs money and you had to buy it for Pachtes / Updates.

The first additon where a small Floppy Disk, which later was upgraded to a CD. After the DVD gets Cheaper and useable for Gamers / Journals the CD was upgraded. And if you were lucky a patch for your favorite Game was there. With the new Additions the Price of the Journal increased too. But if you wanted to have a running game on the best Stand you had to buy it. And 120 Bucks a year was no curiosity.

I think that the young Guys today should brought back to normal, if they have to pay for Patches / Updates again like we did. Say about 5 $ for a Patch / Update (only the young guys which are grumble). We old guys get it for free. :)

There is quite a bit of testing, bug fixing, and adjustment still to come, but this is a big milestone! Now that we have the localized text, we need to go through every single screen in the game to review that everything fits correctly and the translation context is proper. If this sounds like a big job, you are correct - but our test team is on it! More info to come on timing for Beta release(s) once we feel we have a good sense of the scope of bug fixing and adjustment that we have in front of us. Reminder that while we are developing all three languages in parallel, we will not hold up Beta releases for any language if some are ready while others have more bugs to fix. I will let you know as that situation becomes clearer.

I’ve got some updates for you, so let’s jump right in. I wrote a small update in September when we received a big batch of strings that represented the bulk of what was needed to start the final testing and bug fixing process. I said then that testing and bug fixing would be a big job, and two weeks into the process it is clear that this is the case. We're making great progress but now that we know more, it looks like mid-November is a more accurate projection for Beta releases than the earlier mid-October estimate. There are no big red flags here - it just takes time to step through it all and get everything looking good and reading well.

It should be noted that our localization work is being accomplished by our new localization team and is completely independent of our upcoming 1.3 update and Flashpoint expansion work. These efforts are in parallel and are not interfering with one another. We remain committed to getting the localized versions of the game released to Beta as soon as we possibly can.

I look forward to keeping you up to speed on our progress,

thanks for this Update. Until today I only read the Forum, specially this thread becaus I´m a German Kickstarter Supporter an wait for the localization. But now my Question is, obviously the final Localization comes out after the Flashpoint Release, does this mean the Localization is only for the base game or is Flashpoint included?

We are talking only about the base game.
About the translation of DLC and speech can not be yet, as it is unknown when the base version will be translated finally.

Good question, @CosmoConnor - now that we have a release date for Flashpoint, we have adjusted our localization trajectory to be fastest and most efficient giving you the best experience by covering all content, including our big 1.3 update and Flashpoint expansion. Not doing so would push 1.3/Flashpoint translation even farther out, leaving odd gaps playing the game in a selected language. The delta between when you would get the "base game only" beta vs. "all content" initial beta release is negligible and separating them would add a lot of development overhead managing and testing widely differing code branches and such. You'll get the best, most up-to-date version of the game with the most thorough translation this way. Hang in there - we're getting very close and continue to make good progress!

I/We believe you will still see it in November. I of course will let you know if that changes, but all translated content should be in and ready for a final pass. Details still to come - I'll report back as we get more and more definitive.
 
I have doubts about a release in November of the translation.

As you get closer to the dlc release date more people will work on it to get it out at the scheduled time.

I think rather that the release of the beta will be in December or January because the bugs of the dlc (as for all games or dlc there are bugs on their release) at its release may possibly posed a problem to the translation.


So they will first solve the problem which is a bit normal for the translation to work after.

That's why I'm thinking of a release in December see January 2019 of the beta translations.

Yes but nothing prevents that they call this team to the rescue to finish in time their dlc. It's already seen in several studios.
What makes you think that the translation implementation team is qualified to program bug fixes and optimizations?

How you can see on the first page the team is composed of engineer so qualified to solve bug and etc because necessary to understand the operation of the bowels of the game to make compatible translations.

That post quoted "an" engineer.
I asked what makes you think the whole "team" is qualified to bug fix the general game programing and thus would or could be pulled other than speculation ?
The in-house localization team they referenced building "starts with a dedicated producer and an engineer"
Nowhere does it suggest that's the whole team.
People can doubt as they will from personal feelings but let's not suggest such speculation is founded on any empirical data from above. In fact the above mentions that Avoiding such a circumstance was the point of creating such a team in the first place.
