I just use Microsoft's Paint program. First save the 8-bit flag into 24-bit format. If the background of the flag shows up during play, copy the background color of a working flag into the nonworking flag (select box on the working flag, paste onto the background of the nonworking flag, and use eyedropper/fill).

Perhaps not the best place to post this, but I noticed that the first smallshield for Ukraine (smallshield_UKR.bmp) has a white string to the right. Then when I looked at it I realized that the image should've been moved on pixel to the right (the angelimage is not in the middle).
Can anyone confirm this?

Not really, we used to discuss other things in here, like inaccurate sources. :)

Good call though, I'll fix the Ukraine smallshield asap and release a updated GUFSM...

Bourbonnais

Search for "Bourbonnais" turned up one post in this forum, unrelated to my question.

Why wouldn't either the flag or the shield for Bourbonnais be based on this picture?

And if anyone is still taking requests, would it be possible to base a set on the above pic? - it looks like the old France shield, with a red diagonal stripe (top-left -> bottom-right)

EDIT: sry, the request should have gone in the request thread. Here is a pic depicting the coronation of Jeanne de bourbon, wife of Charles V... here, the caption at the bottom (not shown in the speciifc link) reads "Coronation of Jeanne de Bourbon, wife of Charles V, in 1364 (France, Bibliothèque Nationale). To the left, Bourgogne and Bourbon; to the right, Châlons, Beauvais." At any rate, as the caption indicated, basically the dude second from the left - his robes are the same scheme as the pic in the first link I posted - is the duke of Bourbon.

My guess is that the number of fleur de lys would be reduced to three, however, for a 1419 gamestart.
