sometimes, like 20-50% of the times my game runs at half the fps than it is supposed to

its like its sliced in half precisely and it stays that way. i noticed that one of* the things that can reduce fps in half is if anything is changed in the Graphics settings while in -game (especially texture quality)

but beware : sometimes when i turn on ck3, fps is halved without even touching anything. so its not only the settings that causes it

soultion to this is just to restart game as many times as needed to get correct , full fps (usually once or twice)
note: its not vysnc, i m not accidentally turning it on, but i noticed that when i do turn vsync on, my fps drops to Half* of my 144 fps/monitor refresh rate , to like 72-4+
note: non vysnc related fps drops are not identical, they drop from 120 to 60, not 70+)
i tested it all many times, just wana make sure that vsync drops and "mysterious" drops are not confused

I can confirm this bug. Maybe CK3 initializes the graphics adapter in a wrong way? I observed, that when the game runs fluent, my graphics card also gets louder because it gets hotter and the cooler fan has to spin louder. When the game lags, like hypaspist has described, my graphics card doesn't make noises, as when it runs in a low battery mode, or something else.

@hypaspist would you mind to check your graphics card utilization with a tool in those different scenarios?

There is a logged bug where the game does not honour the refreshRate set in pds_settings.txt . Until that is fixed i suggest you use GeForce Experience or Catalyst to limit the frame rate to, say, 60hz.

Sorry about that!

yes its 100% still (if zoomed in) and 40-50% when zoomed out.

Was that fixed with the latest update or not?
Cheers!

I'm afraid not, no - the bug report is still live.

Thanks for the reply! I hope it'll be fixed in the next update (if it's possible)! I also think you'll need to check the V-Sync and G-Sync issues as well, cause they're probably connected to the fps inconsistency.
Cheers!
