increased crashes with 1.04

i downloaded 1.04 on saturday and played a gc as the timurids for about five hours without problems--i pulled up the saved game sunday and every 15 - 20 minutes the game crashed--the last time i pulled it up it was frozen, i.e., it was 1/1/ 1619 and not moving at all!--i experienced no crash proms with eu1, eu2 versions 1 or 1.02--i therefore assume this is not a problem with my system--the only problems i had with 1.03 are the infamous saved game instant crashes when trying to load

There is a known bug in 1.04 with loading saved games while the game is running. Do not do this. Always exit to the initial menu then load. It will be fixed in 1.05.

If that's not it, I would uninstall the game totally, reboot, install and patch straight to 1.04, and try again.

Personaly I am seeing more CTDs when I surrender than when I load in game.

1.04 Crash

If you are having alot of crash CTD's ,Mine worked a bit better once I removed it and reinstalled with just the fresh 1.04 patch put on

viper i don't know what you meant by post to you, so i'm doing it here--the problem is not trying to load a saved game from within the game--rather, it is occuring within minutes of loading the game in the first instance--after the series of crashes eventually on my last load the autosave pulled up frozen,i.e., as if someone had hit the pause button--i will try the uninstall and reinstall this weekend (although i am quite dissapointed at losing my timurid/mughal game)--my computer is as follows: hp pavillion w/ a pentium III; 127 mb ram windows me 4.90.9000; 27.9 gb hard drive w/ 18.8 gb free and i believe the speed is about 840 mhz--i need to run to work presently, but would appreciate your emailing me w/ any thoughts/suggestions regarding my problem at : awachs@hklaw.com

i believe so (although i'm not positive)--assuming that i am is there a simple fix, or am i doomed to suffer through eventually losing all games in this manner?

you'll see it with DXDIAG.EXE if you have it.

This thread contains a link to two tools called Direct X Buster and Nvidia Detonator Destroyer.

One will remove DirecX from your system and the other will remove Nvidia Drivers from your system (assuming you have a Nvidia card of course!). Follow the instructions they give you and then reinstall the latest Nvidia drivers for your card and DirectX 8.0a (you'll find it on the DX buster page).
