Is there a way to increase the frequency of auto saves in AoD 1.08, perhaps by changing a file setting? It seems the best one can do is monthly, and I lost several hours of game time last night because of a CTD. (Yes I know I should be saving manually more often, but as we all know, AoD is an extremely engrossing game ... :) )

As far as I'm aware, I'm afraid to say that monthly is the most frequent auto saves can be set at.

As to your CTD, how fast was the game speed? Was it caused by an event? Were you at war? (just trying to figure out what caused the CTD)

So far as I can remember, I was doing nothing unusual; I clicked on something, the mouse froze, and then Boom! I was at war because it was the Korea mini-scenario. I'm being more careful now to save, but there have been no crashes since, even with the game running much faster at times.

OK, now it's happening more often in the Korea scenario, three times this morning in fact. There doesn't seem to be anything that I'm doing in particular other making a mouse click (I can't remember for what because it happens so fast). I have a large-stack combat going on because of course there's the big battle for North Korea after the Chinese enter the war and the Allies get reinforcements. I'm using 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate; are there are any programs that AoD is sensitive to?

I donnot think so. There might be some issues regarding Windows 8. But the korea scenarios would suggest the problem is located somewhere in the files related to this specific scenario.

Is there any particular point in the game (i.e. a specific date) when it crashes?

To check if it's your computer, I'm happy to try and continue from your save if you upload it.
