At the moment, you're minting a bit. That's causing .17% yearly inflation. You can remove it by not minting i.e. setting the treasury slider to the extreme left.

The .12% gold inflation can only be dispelled by increasing revenue from trade or production. With the Incas, it will probably take some time.

I would very much like to move my slider all the way to the left, but for some reason it is ghosted out. Does that mean I've adjusted too much during the game and I have to allow some time to pass before I can adjust it again?

Also, if no money is minted, how do I increase my treasury throughout the year? I need money to send out colonists and maintain my armies.

Finally... is it only having provinces that have gold create inflation or will the province with silver or copper do the same?

Thank you everyone for your excellent responses!!

Ghosted out? Hmm, you sure you havent locked one or more of your sliders ?

You use the yearly income you get to pay for those things. (You get a yearly sum of of money the 1st of January). You will get more then enough with bailiffs in every province.

As said earlier, only mint when 1. You need bailiffs. 2. When in dire need of troops in a war. 3. When you get a deflation event. (to get back to 2% inflation so you can benefit from the next defaltion :)) 4. To get govenors at infra 5 (not an option when playing Inca)

Another thing. always keep troop upkeep sliders at 50% when not in war, saves a lot of money.

Yes! I did have my slider locked... I didn't know you could lock/unlock those things. I have put my minting down to 0% and am waiting for the inflation to go down.

I'll try to get it down to 2% and keep it around that level just to take advantage if a deflation event should fire.

I agree with you that it will take centuries for my Inca empire to get above an infra 5, so I'll just have to make due with what I have here :)

Thank you so much for your fantastic advice!

Fortunately, there's a small tooltip icon showing at the upper left on the screen as soon as you're not at war, so that there's no reason to skip this opportunity. It's the same for promoting officials, by the way.

Yes, I learned of these clever little icons at the beginning of the game. I have kept my troops at 50% maintenance and have yet to see a reason to raise it.

Thanks :)
