Hello,

I just installed the game and the latest 1.3A patch. I also followed the recommended guidelines, setting the colour to 16 bit, renaming the AVI folder, etc. Problem is, the game still jams during the loading screen while it is initializing globals. When I ctrl/alt/delete I get this text box:

Critical Error!

Error: (Unknown Type in Naval Division) 'convoy attack=14' Line=19 file=db/units/divisions/battleship.txt

I haven't modified any of the files nor installed any mods. Evidently something is going on with the battleship though. Any idea what I should do?

Well you have got exact information where is a problem. Edit this file and try to fix it. From the other hand - if it happend its very probable that after fixing the problem or just pressing cancel dozens of another errors will appear.

--- EDIT

Welcome to the forum first of all ;) . Try to just press cancell in error box. If this wont help - you can edit the file with any text editor.

Reinstall the game.

Yup. That would be my suggestion too. Somehow, you managed to mix the hoi2 application with the doomsday database files. Those contain several extentions ofver the original game, and convoyattack is one of them. Naturally, the game engine of the original hoi2 game doesn't recognize these. Hence the critical error.
