British Military control over the Imperial puppets.

So its 1942, Japan have DoWed USA, USA join me etc etc. But here is the problem, the Indian reserve divisions I had collected in Eastern India to prepare for a modified operation Matador against siam are now under the control of someone else

So someone is removing the indian divisions from the SIAM border and pushing up the the chinese (now annexed by Japan) border, where they will get bogged down in mountains and jungles, leaving siam, Burma and Malaysia to be taken by Japan whenever they push to puppet Siam.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Probably within the current AI. I had the same with the Indian units I moved up to the Libian border, as they quicky retreated back to India once they got there. It's probably to simulate the fact that the UK couldn't free up much Indian forces due to internal unrest within India. Perhaps we could transfer some of them by event or such to UK control itself, to simulate deployable divisions. I don't know whether it's up for review ATM.

I personally do not like India being a puppet nation. The Empire would be hard to model though. When you look at campaigns like Singapore, Australian, British, Indian, New Zealandish units were all under the command of Britain, not on a divisional basis, but on a Bn scale.

Im also upset by uppity India refusing to share techs with me

And France not allowing Vichy

And Italy having a larger Navy than UK .... WTF (no carriers but 9 BBs and more destroyer/cruisers)!

I do like the AI though, I lost 12 TAC divisions because Italy pulled off an amphib assault on an undefended province. :eek:o

The control of the units was a choice made by the home governments. Probably we need to adjust the AI files so Indian (and other Dominion) forces are sent to the UK as expeditionary forces rather than national forces under a unified command. This would better represent the situation and give full control of those units to a British player or AI.

Interesting to see that India is more technologically advanced than your British forces. If that is the case we probably need to look at the Indian tech teams because they shouldn't be better technologically than the British. This is a loop hole that we will have to correct. They should be much more annoyed at you not wanting to give them techs. :D

There is always a chance of that happening. That is what keeps the game interesting.

Have you looked at the Italian ships or are you just going on the sheer numbers?

These numbers are historical. The Italian Navy had a large number of smaller destroyers and other units. If you go an look at their OOB, you will see that they have a lot of 500 ton destroyers and MTBs. In the unit counts, these each count as the equivilent to a full sized destroyer. This gives them a numerical superiority but a severe disadvantage in unit capability.

If there is a mistake in the Italian OOB, let us know, but so far it looks like it is pretty historical.

Glad to hear that the AI is getting it right sometimes. :D
