If you have the SF version you should stick with the SF patch. What makes you think the other one is better?

But yes it is a problem with the registry.
Check the self help sticky thread, notice that 1.uninstall is a hot link. It will give you instructions on fixing up your registry.

You did not post anything about it in my forum. I would have remembered something like that. I have to say that you use the other patch at your own risk so to speak.

Never the less the link I gave you will tell you how to solve your problem.
Any further problems with the uninstall just let me know.
