Install/Font Issue - Arial8.bmp

Okay, so. I just did a fresh install of DV from Gamersgate on a new system. Vista, if it matters - further specs are available but I'm not sure they're relevant.

Only problem: when I boot it up, I get an error message of "didnt find FONT: gfx/fonts/arial8.bmp not available". Abort/retry/ignore.

Ignoring it means the game freezes while initializing.

This strikes me as genuinely odd, actually - it seems to be a problem with the GAME files, and I've never had it before.

Advice?

I had this issue as well. If you have an old CK install, search to that same fonts dir and simply copy/paste arial8.bmp.

Hope this works for you. If you don't have arial8.bmp, I can email it to you as an attachment.

Okay. Although I would much rather cause this topic to never have existed, I feel that for posterity I should note that I overlooked one small, teensy-tiny detail:

I forgot to install the original CK on this computer.

(Now, I've been having bizarre CTDs at times that I'm working my way around, but the original font issue is not present.)
