Install/patch/monkey error

I can play HOI without patch fine. whenever i try to patch up with 1.3a or 1.3 or1.2 or 1.1 something monkeyinsh happens. I start the game and everythings good until the first load screen comes up and the only thing that has changed is that the load screen is green.... Then it just sits there doing nothing so i have to CTRL/ESC to see if its still running and it is ...then i click on HOI again and an error pops up(looks like it was written by a monkey ) that says something like (unkownnavalunit) convfoyattack =14=19 and the game crashes. I have manually uninstalled/ reinstalled the game twice. On top of that i redid windows and it STILL wont work.........my computer is more than able to play this I mean i can play battlefield 2 with full graphics online and its fine but i cant play this game (which i have no clue why i love it :rofl: ) for jack shit. Any help will be appriciated.

Was looking round the forums earlier and found something with a battleship moveerror (Or something, doesn't matter). It was based in DD being installed on top of HoI2 whereas the unit specific specs of DD where put into HoI2 and not understood by the exe

Uninstall HOI2 or DD. See sticky in the techforum how to do it.

Install HOI2 or DD. Install the correct patch. For HOI2 it's 1.3. For DD it's 1.2.

Thanx I looked through some of the forums too and found the same thing so reinstalled and apllyed the dd patch instead of the HOI patch and it worked I felt a little stupid but i can now play the game :rofl: so im pretty happy.... I still think there are some monkeys but i have a monkey gun so im good.
