I recently reinstalled HOI2 on my hardrive. Now it installed and it opened properly to the main game menu and I was able to select a scenario and a nation. But when I click to start the game, I get this message.

.

I've tried replacing the armour_tech.txt file with the original one from vanilla HOI2 but I still receive the same error. If someone could help me with this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. (By the way, HoI2 Vanilla runs perfectly fine.)

You are not running Armageddon, yet the game tries to load an Armageddon unit file. The naval_anti_air is a naval brigade. Those were only added with the Armageddon expansion. Since your game does not recognize the command, it is obviously not Armageddon you're running. So you don't have Armageddon installed yet applied an Armageddon patch to your HoI2 or Doomsday.

If you got HoI Anthology, install Armageddon only, then patch up to either Arma 1.2 or Arma 1.3beta2 (recommended by me). Make sure the patches install into the Arma directory, as their default path is Doomsday (you have to manually direct them to the Arma one).

If you got any other version of the game (not Mac), install Doomsday, then Arma. Apply the Arma 1.2 or Arma 1.3beta2 patches to your Doomsday directory (which now also holds Arma).

Well at one point I did have armageddon installed (I borrowed from a friend) but it has been since removed. I have just installed Doomsday. I have attempted a clean deletion and reinstall of Doomsday. And even attempting to run version 1.0, I still receive this error. I am not using the anthology pack. Just normal Doomsday.

just buy arma, it's only $4,95 ;) http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-HOI2A/hearts-of-iron-2-dd-armageddon

You might have remnants of the previous installation left in your registry... search the registry for paradox, then look for anything that points to armageddon... though simply buying the expansion might be easier ;)

EDIT:

Upon looking more closely, I don't think it's a registry problem as the game clearly tries to load armageddon files which must be present on your hdd. Maybe you still have a folder of arma, which you accidentally overwrote with a doomsday install or patch? Search your computer for naval_asw.txt, if you find it, that's your arma folder. The properties of the hoi2-Shortcut you're using to start the game should also point to that folder.

Thanks for the help, I purchased it, and well test it out, post up the results. :)

Okay new error has arrised. The game works perfectly. But when I attempt to load a save game I get this message. Doesn't matter what nation I choose, or scenario, or even if it's modded. I get the same message.

Other then this the game is fine. But I'd like to know how to load my saved games properly.

Hm... Is that a savegame from before you upgraded to Armageddon? Other than that, I don't know. Obviously someone has a light-tank brigade which he shouldn't have, so perhaps you could just load the save in Notepad++ and jump to the line specified to delete it.

No the game is the first one I saved after doing a fresh install of Armageddon. I attempted to go into the file and delete what was suggested, but same error occurs.
