Installation Problem

Hi Folks,

I'm facing a brand new issue with products of your company.
I'm installing a french version of CK on the PC running under Windows 2000 german version ... and : all the texts are displayed as "unknown string" and the french patch version 1.03 can not be installed ... it is requesting the german patch.
I've already installed on this PC the english version of HoI and the french version of EU2 without any problem.

If you have any solution, I would be pleased. On the box, the type of windows is displayed (XP, 2000, ...), not the language. I would like to avoid to reinstall window to play this game

We are currently testing Patch Version 1.04 for Crusader Kings and will put it out for download as soon as it works flawlessly (or as close to flawlessly as we think we can get ), which hopefully wont be long.
Chances are your problem will be solved by this. In the meantime maybe somebody else in this forum has a good suggestion?

Sorry for the delay in responce, but construction cut my cable so I have had no access for a couple of days.

I assume it is looking for French language files and you do not have any installed, It could also be that it cannot recognise a particular accent character used in French that you have no support for. So I doubt that the 1.04 patch would install for you either, but anything is possible and Flori would know much more about the patch details than me.

I think you need to get that original install to function properly and without unknown string errors.

What is the exact error message it gives you?

Can you take a look at the registy entry and see what language is listed there for CK?
