Installing DD question

Gents,
I've been playing HOI2 for a while now and what a game! I'm thinking about downloading and installing DoomsDay through Gamer's Gate as well. I'm now running HOI2 1.3A. What do I need to do to get the fully patched HOI2DD on my pc?
There's a version 1.3B present. Can I install this on DD without a problem?
Newb question: I see everybody talk about 'Vanilla'. What's that? The patched version of non-modded release?

Doomsday is a stand alone game that you install just like you did HOI2.

The latest official patch for it is 1.3a. You will find the forum dedicated to HOI2DD (along with the patch) here

There is an add on pack for DD called Armageddon that you will find on Gamersgate. This is not a stand alone version you install it on top of the HOI2DD folder.

The patch for Regular HOI2 does not work with Doomsday....

Vanilla is a term to describe a non user modified standard version of an application.

Thanks Corey, do I have to uninstall HOI2 first or does DD clean it up fo me?

The are separate games the HOI2 DD installer does not touch the HOI2 Regular install.....

You will have icons for both games....
