My old PC broke so I've just bought a new one and installed HOI2 on it.

I now want to add the patches but its been so long since I downloaded them last time that I'm not overly sure I'm doing this right.

I went to download the 1.3a patch but it seemed to default to the desktop, I changed that to the HOI2 folder but a message came up saying the .exe file already existed, so rather than mess it all up I thought it best to ask.

I've downloaded Winrar to unzip the patch but thats as far as I've got.

I'm a bit of a 'no hoper' when it comes to the technical stuff so any advice really needs to be in simple terms.

Thanks in advance for any replies

If you have followed the official link (in the stickied thread) to download the 1.3a patch, you should have received an .exe file of roughly 30 MB. This is a self contained patching program, so there is no need to use winzip, winrar or anything else.

When the game is properly installed, you can simply run the patching program by double clicking on it. It will find the location where hoi 2 is installed, and proceed to patch it.
