Institution embracing cost

As I read from the wiki embracing an institutions is supposed to cost 2.5 ducats per development (after local autonomy), a few modifiers.

Now these numbers don't seem to add up. In my Portugal game for instance it calculates I have to pay 40.57 for Porto with 20 dev and 25 autonomy. I have -5.543% embracement cost due to 55.43 prestige.

So I calculate it should cost: 15x2.5x(1-0.0543)=35.42
If local autonomy is not considered it should be 20x2.5x(1-0.0543)=47.23

Neither numbet is what the game is saying (40.57). What factor am I missing?

I seem to be paying 2.705 ducats per development (after LA) which would be 2.86 before the prestige discount. Where does my 2.86/2.5=1.144 so 14.4% premium come from?

What does the country modifiers list say about your "Institution embracement cost"?(you can open the list with the button on the top right corner of the government tab). Maybe you have additional modifiers. For example from the decision Pass Act of Uniformity

Unfortunately it doesn't help me any further since the only institution embracement cost modifier listed there is once again the -5.5% due to prestige that I already knew of.

For the record: I didn't pass any decisions. I'm playing the latest version (1.29.2 iirc).

I'm mostly trying to figure out how this cost is calculated to make educated decisions now and in the future (e.g do I embrace Renaissance now or do I wait? Cause e.g prestige decay, autonomy increase and colonization increase embrace cost, are there more factors?)

I did a few tests. There seems to be another factor: time. In my tests, the cost increase by 0.5% per year after 1444. So I guess you are in the year 1473, because (40.57/(2.5*15*(1-0.055))-1)/0.005+1444=1472.96

Yes that's correct (1-nov-1473 though).

I also learned to not try and embrace an institution before starting a colony (because it starts counting the colony at 75 LA immediately), not assign the colony to TC before embracing (lowers LA and you still pay for TC provinces) and not to core your just finished colony before embracing (again because of LA).

I was expecting not to pay for unfinished colonies and finished colonies I assigned to a TC but I was wrong.

Am I right that for CNs you don't pay embracement cost (because its a vassal)?
