I'm thinking the perspective will take some getting used to, but the detail looks amazing.

Question: doesn't this look similar in concept to Cool-Toxic's Arabia Universalis map that already has a very good mod attached to it for the middle ages?

Mad King James you're one of the best modders out there, why don't you combine your talents with either szmik or Cool-Toxic and put all your energy into making Arabia Universalis or Watkaboi for FTG really really great instead?

It'll be much more preferred to just making another map without a mod for it.

WE really need to get AGCEEP 1.58 converted to Watkaboi for FTG. !!!

Nice map indeed! :D

WOW !!!

Chapeau Messire,
this is an amazing map.

I agree so much

I agree. 1337 to 1914 with AGCEEP level detailed events and WATKABOI's map would probably be one of the best mods ever.
Yes, yes, yes.

But there is still place for more focused, in time and space, mods like "History of Rome" or "Arabia Universalis".

Please Mad King James consider to join us you can be our Mastro Cartografo to all of us ;) :p

The problem is, converting AGCEEP to work on any map is just tedious, big work. Not really funny thing for a modder to do. Creating a new map or new mod on the other hand is.

And then puke. :p

:rofl::D:rofl:

Anyway AGCEEP have their own map project too....

On the other hand such a highly-detailed map doesn't fit at all for a huge worldwide mod, but is rather perfect for ancient time / middle age one.

My only concern is that we are not so many in here and if we start pourring a new map-mod every week....well :p

Finally is Mad King James job and I will respect whatever he want to do,
I don't even know what Insulae Europa idea is.
Was this an existing mod/project for EU2 ?

Best regards

AGCEEP would be a pain on this

The playtesting would be killer.

Not only do you have to make sure events work properly, you have to playtest for playability and fun. A lot of the events that lead to annexing something would suck as with the hugely expanded realms you'd get instant badboy wars.

Some suggestions for just general mods though:

1) Reduce all the movement times per province to take into account the huge number of provinces to move through.

2) Reduce Badboy per province.

Some curiosities:

1) How do you get accurate data on initial population per province?
2) Do you mod anything else (like cost/benefit of tax collectors and so on?)?

Such a map could be amazingly strategic if you get movement times and costs/benefits correct.

Port Blockades

Have you carved the sea up more extensively as well?

One of my biggest annoyances in Europa Universalis is the multiple blockade syndrome, where a single fleet blockades tons of ports from friendly water.

I think ideally if each port had a seperate sea area (possibly by creating a small are around a port as needed) and navy movement times were reduced then naval maneuver would become far more strategic (including such things as relief fleets for blockades, etc...).

The ground map looks amazing. From the name I assume there isn't going to be any colonialism going on in Asia, Africa or North America, so Europe is the whole map?

The map looks perfect for a Dark Ages / early Medaeval period game.
