What I (and IMO a lot of others) really miss is actual official support for converting the playthroughs from game to game. I think that it would be a good advertisement for PI games as well - imagine the possibility of propagating the ability to play for more than a millenium (considering - CK2/Old Gods and East vs. West) could attract attention. The series could essentially equate (and in many many ways surpass) the Civ games.

Yes, there are some converters able to do that but still they are far from perfection and they are almost unable to deal with mods and such.

I know that this topic has been brought up many times but what do you think? And are there any official statements about that?

The official statement in regards to EU4 is that they'd like to create one but it's not a high priority. I'd provide a source but I'm too lazy to look it up after work.

It's actually a pretty hefty investment if you think about it. Especially with the new model that Paradox has adopted where they provide smaller, more modular DLC 'expansions' with an accompanied content patch, they would likely have to update the converter every time they patched the game. I'd love to have one and would gladly pay for it, but I understand how it gets repeatedly put on the back burner when they have the actual games to worry about finishing/releasing/fixing.

But I think it could be done a bit flexibly...but maybe that would require a different engine (and that would be a hefty investment, yes).
